Gorgeous trio. I especially like the 1803! Such an understated classic... Great value for the money! And a nice, clean example you've got. However, I don't envy you when it comes to changing the day and date on that one!

Thursday wear...

Started as: Step 1: Get rid of that fugly domed crystal for a correct example with cyclops. Step 2: For good measure, press on a genuine bezel and convert to 7032 spec. In two easy steps, the watch now has a completely different (and more gen-like) look and feel to it All set for the time being... Just waiting for other items to finish up before I press on further here. Thanks for looking! //ubi

Looks fantastic! I love it when everything goes together as beautifully as this! Personally, I think I'd leave the case minty... Looks perfect as-is in my opinion...

I tried on chieftang's Breitling SA when he was here in town; granted, my wrist is 6.75-ish inches in diameter, I have to say that the size wasn't too big of an issue. The lugs on that model turn down at the ends, and I didn't feel as though it was terribly awkward to wear. Don't get me wrong- It is a BIG watch, none the less- Width and height... It's a big chunk of metal to pull around. I am not sure I could hang with one for any long duration of time. But the lugs were definitely unsightly on my wrist (unfortunately, I didn't get pics of that one). My limited experience with the Hublot is not great; the watch itself is fine, but that damn clasp is quite uncomfortable. As the watch was not mine (rather, it belongs to watchmeister), I wasn't about to go bending up the clasp in order to better suit my comfort level. But it is definitely a unique watch. Not quite the King BB, but the closest I'll probably ever get to one (HBB is just not for me)... Oh, BTW; one upside to the Breitling is that gen dials and the sort are easily found. If you choose to go with the SA (and it ends up being a watch that you not only want to keep, but perhaps take to the next level), building a franken is not out of the question!

Indeed... 50 or so hours of PR, and I think it cost me all of $500 at the time, new from a dealer in the UK.

There's just something about a tourbillon... Absolutely mesmerizing. I do miss mine at times...

My first suggestion would actually be a cheap gen Seiko Monster gets my vote as it's durable and relatively low cost; good for a knock around watch.

N- If you get a 602-0 6mm crown, you may find that it will thread onto the rep tube as-is. At least, that's what I've experienced...

Thanks, fellers. The size of this watch just looks ridiculous on me; granted, my wrists are not very big, but still, it's a small watch Looks at home on Mrs. Ubi's wrist, however... And my 6 year old son could probably sport it as well. The bracelet end links are tweaked quite a bit, but I believe they are correct for this model (357 end links). I've managed to straighten them out, but given the age and wear on it, they're sitting a bit loose at the lugs still... Bracelet is actually from my big bro Lanikai!

I seem to recall 24-6020 for the tube. The conundrum here is that the 24-6030(?) I believe has the same case threading/tap size as a 5.3mm tube; the older 602 style should have the larger size tap, which I believe should be the same for the rep. Been a while since I've had to deal with the 6mm crowns, though...

As folks that build project watches will likely know how such things typically occur, left over parts from such endeavors are not uncommon. I'm currently working on a slow, long, drawn out project where most everything that can go wrong has gone wrong, but I digress; such is not the topic for this post. However relevant, the movement donor for that project was a 5500 Air King. A small little guy at 34mm in size, but it had the correct 1520 that I wanted, so alas it was sacrificed for the engine inside Normally, the empty left over shell would just sit in my collection of other donor cases, but for some reason I felt compelled to give this particular case a second look. Dunno what really set this instance apart, but I had a sudden urge to build it into a secondary project of sorts. Let me just say that this secondary effort turned out better than I was expecting, and better than the primary project that I'm still wrestling with. -Gen Air King 5500 case/caseback/bezel (34mm) -Gen 6mm 602-0 -Aftermarket gloss/gilt Explorer Precision dial -SS rep hands gilted and aged -ETA 2824 -Gen 7835 folded link bracelet Hands modified and ready to go. Dial mounted... Then hands... And cased. Bracelet fitted: Overall, this one's a little too small for my preference, but maybe Mrs. Ubi will enjoy it?

jmb- I found this bezel in my parts box; still not correct for your Tudor, but it does have a nice profile to it. If you want it, I'll drop it in the mail...

FYI- MKII no longer sells hands, dials or parts directly. Some of their authorized dealers can still supply them, but that can be rather hit or miss.

red- That's a current 1680 lumi service dial

Looks pretty good, but you'll want to add the little 1/4 height tick marks at :29 :30 :31, right under the SWISS - T < 25 I also agree that the coronet should be moved to the right just slightly. Keep the 'L' in rolex where it is, as it should be slightly off center of the coronet...
