  1. That's a great looking watch! That ceramic case is gorgeous. I wish they'd do a Zegg and Cerlati version of the 3799.
  2. Crystal? What crystal?! Chief's amazing AR treatment is like a magic trick...
  3. I'll need to check mine when I get home, but I don't recall the crown feeling wobbly on mine when pulled out to the date or time setting position.
  4. 15k?! Holy moly! Talk about milestones! Congrats, Ken!
  5. NICE work, Lani!! That's a job well done!
  6. My 3717 touched down today and it's on my wrist as I type. I loved this watch before; with the new parts added, I'm beyond ecstatic! Pics to follow soon...
  7. That is one very photogenic watch! A beauty to be certain! I think I have to kick myself for always passing this one up.
  8. I know for sure that EL's oiginal 100 was the first to be produced. There are some slight differences most certainly with the dial (markers/lume), and possibly with things like the case back, overall finising, engraving etc. I can't really say for sure whether these latter differences are intrinsic or even palpable by physical examination only; I've not had an EL100 and a 3rd generation example in hand to review side by side. I can say for certain that the dials are different, and this may or may not be the selling point. The original EL100 is easier/better for relume work due to the construction of the luminous markers. The V3 is more problematic as the markers are applied differently, and stand to risk more damage to the dial upon removal. Aside from that, I am not certain if there are any major differences with case or bracelet otherwise.
  9. Gotta love the lugs! Here's how the case looked prior to being shipped over the Pacific Compare the short, thick, stub block lugs (right) with my Jimmy Fzu's lugs (left): Just the way a Pre-V oughta be!
  10. Loss for words... This thing is just mind staggeringly brilliant! I'm glad to see this one finished, Lani... And in Zig's most capable hands, it turned out amazing!
  11. Correct. 2836 has a taller, more raised profile datewheel whereas the 2824 datewheel is relatively flat in comparison. Diameter is the same, however...
  12. The 029 and 063 use a completely different movement altogether; ETA 2893 in those... Some of the earlier (and best) reps come with that movement already fitted, whereas some use a 2836-2 modified with a 24 hour wheel.
  13. Lost In Translation. Which I've been meaning to just buy for a while now, since it's one of my faves...
  14. 3714 today... Have a great week all...
  15. I gave my last gen dial to the Zigmeister to install in his Navi rep- After a quick trim, it fit his watch just fine.
  16. This is about as pumpkin as I get... But at least there is some orange?
  17. I've had the DSN BP Tournek-Rayville... Great watch, but I ultimately ended up parting with mine to fund other projects. Would I buy again? Not sure... If I were to give the FF design another try, I might opt for one of Bill Yao's hommages instead to try something different...
  18. P153/AP- First off- It's great to see you posting again! Somehow, I figured it would be a Doxa thread that would get you posting here again Hope you are doing well. Second... If anyone would possibly, remotely have the bezel for Lani's watch, I figured it would be you. If not, I bet you would know where to start looking Lani- The Pre-T is looking good, but I have a feeling that the right bezel is going to proppel it beyond comprehension. Can't wait to see what unfolds next!
  19. Hmmmm... I seem to remember the Top Secret Skyline and (I think) an RB26DETT powered Supra putting down some pretty serious figures with Smokey Nagata behind the wheel during a freeway shake down run. That motor along with Toyota's 2JZ-GTE are both capable of some pretty serious tuning...
  20. How about swapping in a gen dial? They can be obtained for a pretty reasonable price... Think the sliderule will align?
