  1. Ubi, I have all of the components except dial. I'm going to "overhaul" the case (new pusher O-rings and the circlips on the pushers) - just got the O-rings from watchbitz and circlips from cousins. I have bought a "generic" dial off e-Bay for the purpose of "mocking it up" to make sure everything fits (hands, etc.). I'm looking forward to it as soon as it's all together. I've never assembled one like this from scratch so I don't know yet whether any kind of movement adapter is going to be needed but I'll cross/build that bridge when I get there!
  2. I think I'm getting a bit "teary"... Dang, I'm turning green!!!!
  3. I would recommend to anybody getting the "decorated" movement to remove the decorations or at the least make sure the screw is tight! I found the screw attaching the faux bridge to be loose and the little cover over the rotor screw is affixed with double-stick tape.
  4. Very clean and trim watch. I like it even if it doesn't have any CGs!
  5. Could somebody post a representitive picture of an MBW 5513 bezel and crystal compression ring (or suitable "exploded" drawing)? I need it to send to NEO to positively identify which parts are needed... Thanks...
  6. BIG DAWG!!! Congrats on your "ascension"!
  7. Make sure it is silicone RTV sealant/adhesive. Some of the silicone sealants/gasket makers do not stick very well and make a poor adhesive.
  8. IF I can get my cyclops off in one piece I think all I need to do is move it toward the center a couple mm and it should be OK. Couple that with the 6mm twin-lock crown and hopefully it should be presentable.
  9. Lani, emery paper would probably be the best thing to sand it down with. For others wondering on how to remove the insert I used the careful application of my heat-gun to the bezel and the glue softened up nicely and the insert was very easy to pry off with a razor blade. I then removed all of the glue residue from the bezel and secured the new insert with clear RTV.
  10. As an aside the Turn-O-Graph I ordered from Silix wound up in a neighbors yard (about 4 house from me) and they brought it to me! Apparently it must have fallen out of his bag when he was walking his route and he never noticed it.
  11. All of the Priority Mail supplies are free from the USPS website. I use the 6"x7"x7" boxes for almost everything. I think it's easy for envelopes to get lost/damaged/disposed of. I've gotten in 8 1/2" x 11" envelopes that have actually had tires-tracks on 'em so you know it layed around SOMEWHERE for a while... I am the "culprit" waiting for this stuff and have e-mailed NEO to see if replacements can be had but if anybody has an MBW compression ring I can borrow to copy it would be appreciated... :-\
  12. I would think about anything would be OK as long as it's "artistic"!
  13. In my experience it's just treated as regular mail although in the past some people have said they have had packages delivered on Sundays. That may have been true before the last budget crunch. My last package has an Global Express Mail sticker on it (put there by Customs?) dated Dec 31 that says "Deliver by 3:00 PK Today" and I received it 5 days later...
  14. Bright, I apply a super-thin film to the back of the overlay with a finger then press down the overlay with pretty good pressure and so far have had no clearance issues. I was going to use epoxy but didn't know if I liked it's "permanence"!
  15. Just think of what would happen if you had a really "risque" sig!!??
  16. Crap! I was hoping nobody would notice that but I should know better by now! I have one 6mm crown/tube assy left so I guess I'll break down and use it! You know, the problem is I actually like 7mm crowns better than 6mm for function although I admit the 6mm looks more "streamlined"...
  17. Yes, clear "5 minute" epoxy. I don't know if superglue would be a good choice or not...
  18. By-Tor, I may add this to my ever growing list of future projects (I may have to retire to get them all done) to deal with. I envision removing the markers, popping out the old lume, airbrushing matte black, dropping some lume, reattaching markers. Oh, thanks for not making fun of the cyclops on my cheapi Exp II - that is also on the list of future projects... :-p
  19. On the budget aisle you can't find a better buy, IMO!!! If you want to put off replacing the pearl you can do the "epoxy" fix on it. Pics here: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/106684-sub-pearl-epoxy-mod/page__p__742158__hl__epoxy mod__fromsearch__1&#entry742158
  20. I use clear RTV silicone adhezive - sticks to pretty much anything but can still be fairly easily removed. I also use it on bezel inserts...
  21. So, wouldn't this be as simple as removing the markers, airbrushing them the correct semi-gloss charcoal grey and re-luming them? I just got a "budget" model and they are pretty black but maybe not quite black enough...
