  1. While the 16520 is a little bit more expensive, I don't think there will be a winner investment wise between those two in the long run. Both were/are incredibly successful models and therefore both are readily available on the second hand market. What makes 6263/6265s so expensive is the mere fact that these weren't really popular in their days and there aren't too many around (though you shouldn't have real problems finding one as well). I personally would go with a 116520 simply because I don't like what Rolex did to Zenith's El Primero movement (they reduced the beat rate for example) and the 4130 is a true in-house caliber with an interesting seconds at six feature. With what you save compared to the older model you could then buy a second hand El Primero chronograph and that way have two outstanding movements in your collection.
  2. VERY nice, congrats!
  3. A tribute would be truly amazing, but if you venture into that price region, you might also want to check out a pre-owned Audemars Piguet 15300 ST.
  4. Glad everything worked out, take good care of her and wear her well!
  5. Looks stunning, congratulations! In the end you saved a lot of money, plus you have an original 36k El Primero ticking away in there, which imo is a big plus! Unfortunately with Rolex increasing their parts prices over and over again (just look at their bracelets), I don't see many of these getting build anymore...
  6. http://www.bethge-soehne.com/contact.php Bethge und Söhne are apparently very good at it, they will only refinish genuine dials however.
  7. Kaufmann straps are amazing, they make some in 19/16mm and they will also produce every single one of their other models in 19/16mm as a special order for you in only 4 weeks. Great quality and prices are also very fair.
  8. Beautiful, I have a gen service bezel available if you are interested...
  9. That rotor is great! God, this thing is going to be amazing!
  10. Wow, that's ridiculous, where did you get it?
  11. Looks very good, congratulations!
  12. I love that dial!
  13. My Sigma again, which might be looking for a new home in the near future...
  14. If you go for a 16800, I'd definitely buy a matte version. They are still pretty affordable but if you ever decide to part with it again, there's a far greater demand for them than for those with WG surrounds.
  15. Awesome!
  16. Beautiful!
  17. I don't think that they are too different, that might just be the difference of the 6263 and 6265 bezel (which is a tiny bit smaller on the outside - at least my 6265 MK2 vs my 6263 MK4), case polish and picture angle. The 6263 pushers you posted and those in my second picture are the same I believe and they do look almost identical to my Cousins pushers. But you are right, when you compare the feel of a gen crown while turning, the feel of the teeth is definitely different to that of my Cousins pushers. Cosmetically however the difference is very, very subtle... Imo the least important parts you need to go gen on a high end cosmograph franken, nice to have though... Ephry are you 100% positive that the pushers you got are gen? Care to do an in-depth review (macro shots, etc.)?
  18. Here's another serviced 6263, the pushers seem to be a little more "flat" on the outside... Yeah Vly, 400€ for the pair, I enquired in June.
  19. Well if you are talking 6263/6265 pushers, I have to admit I have been wondering the same for quite some time. I have never seen or handled genuine 24-p302-0 pushers in person, because they are just so damn expensive. I have a source who was able to order them from Rolex for 200€ a piece which imo is really, really expensive (that's two new 703 crowns from the same source). I might order a pair at some point, maybe when I get the V726 serviced the next time, but right now I don't see the point. Here's a picture of a Rolex serviced 6265 with service pushers. I have examined my cousins pushers thoroughly comparing them to this picture over and over again but couldn't really tell. I think the curved part on the outside of the pusher maybe a little bit more pronounced on the genuine ones. Also the "teeth" might be a little bit finer, but honestly I don't know. It may be something which is only noticable when you handel both watches in person, maybe LHOOQ can chime in here, I think he has handled genuine vintage Cosmographs on a few occassions...
  20. Besides the cosmetic differences, the gen's 3120 caliber is 21600 bph, so all the reps are wrong in this departement as well... The latest versions of the 15300 are very good judging from all the reviews on here, if I had cash to spend at the moment I would get one in a heartbeat!
  21. Apart from his pill cabinet, I don't really like anything he has ever done. I'm a modern art guy, but what on earth does this thing stand for? What's creative about it? What do watch dials have to do with the background? If he had at least made it remotely resemble a watch, a watch made out of watches or something...
  22. These are NDT 5517 dials, aren't they? Giveaway for me is always shape of the R, E and the coronet. Still they do look impressively accurate from normal wrist distance. For my upcoming project I'd take the eggshell patina version of the two ones shown in a heartbeat (at NDT prices though)!
  23. Height for one is very different, an El Primero is 6.5mm, while a Valjoux 7750 is 8.1mm.
