  1. Correction--When I manually wind it the reversing gears do not spin but the gold one with the holes in it on the auto wind module does.
  2. Hi all, I need to replace an auto wind module on a 1520. It went on without a hitch and appears to be properly seated and it screwed down just fine with all the posts lined up. I took it off and put it on a few times very carefully and each time it seats in the same position with no problems. When I wind the watch manually, the little red reversing (?) gears on the auto wind module spin. Does this mean it is seated correctly and interacting properly with the rest of the movement? When I spin the auto wind rotor the reversing gears spin but I cannot hear any clicks that would suggest that the mainspring is being wound so I am concerned. Hope that makes sense to those of you who have done this. Does it sound like I'm OK so far? Thanks, Steve.
  3. That video perfectly encapsulates YouTube. A healthy combination of the obvious, the misinformed, and the out of focus . Well done!
  4. I operate 2-3 years behind the rest of the forum , so my best new additions in 2014... 1665-Phong mid case (or case band as Walt Odets and I like to call it) and back, rest gen. JLC Navy Seals Diver with gen strap-Could not get this off my wrist all Summer. Rep bracelet is also awesome. IWC Ingenieur Vintage Laureus on gen black gator strap-This is the first rep I've had where the dial plots really sparkle like a gen. Rolli pre-a 002 dial in an H factory case with Sead CG and a gen A series strap. I did not know NOS A series straps were worth $500 until I put it on the watch . Looks great though! I look forward to getting an AP Diver v7 in another 2-3 years. Then maybe a big crown . Happy New Year all!
  5. Great looking build Tomhorn. Happy accidents can be expensive but I'd rather spend money picking up an HH case or a Rolli dial or some of the other great pieces made by members of the community than the latest version of the AP Diver or whatever. Not that we all haven't done that as well.
  6. American? (This joke used to be Canadian until their money became more valuable than ours.)
  7. I thought III was just fine, although hard to appreciate after the disaster that was II. I just hope JJ doesn't leave out the Senate intrigue!
  8. As long as there is some bad guy this time. How the man who created Darth Vader forgot the bad guy for 2 1/3 films I will never understand.
  9. Nice! I have the original and love it. These are the best low light cameras out there. I really wish I had the digital split image focus aid on mine so I could go full purist...they have made the manual focus much better on the last two models. If your macros of watches are a bit soft at F2...try 2.8. Cheers.
  10. The [censored] and the jeans, bounce, what were you asking about?
  11. ASCI did not say that was the ONLY thing that makes him think of that picture
  12. Hi all, I recently acquired a genuine tritium dial to build a 14270 with lug holes using a genuine 16200 case. I have both the original smooth bezel and sapphire crystal (from which I removed the cyclops) and a JMB bezel with Rolex plexy. Questions: 1. Every picture I find has a plexy crystal. Do I have any option here, or will all lug hole 14270 models be plexy? I have seen these listed as everything from N to X series (which seems a bit broad). 2. Are we in agreement that the lug holes will be standard Datejust size? Thanks!
  13. There are a bunch. The chronograph with the three dates showing and a bunch of sevens in the number (3777?) seems quite good.
  14. What's the strap? I'm looking for something similar. Thanks!

  16. There is a v3 CG and crown for sale at Rep Geek right now.
  17. Lovely Gran and great work on the case AJ. Love that bridge over the mainspring barrel. If I was running Longines I would find a way to work that into my modern movements.
  18. This is a cool watch, but these "mid-range" brands are really getting expensive. Jaeger is the same way. Everything is 10K now.
  19. I'm like JMB so this is a good test. Right is gen I assume based on fit and finish.
