  1. Thanks for the diagram. Problem diagnosed. My o-ring in the crown has simply stuck to the end of the tube. I figured that was where it belonged. At any rate, it can't escape. Cheers.
  2. Thanks...flat is what I was guessing. My crown came without. Cheers.
  3. The pics of Athaya's tube made the smooth part look a little shorter than on pictures of gen tubes on VRF. At least that was my impression. My aftermarket tube looks like the gen pictures I have seen. Can someone describe the gasket situation on a 702 crown. Is there a gasket in the crown or just in the tube?
  4. I replaced a gen 703 with an aftermarket 702 recently and it went in without a fuss. No guarantee for a gen 702 though. Cheers.
  5. Hi Freddy, Is this style case back ever correct for a GW or just DRSD? Cheers.
  6. Nice! Has me in the mood. We had a very wet Summer, but of course now we have yet to get much snow. It'll be along. Cheers.
  7. Arrgg...I was second bidder on Ebay for the most spectacularly beat up 1680 about a year ago that I'm still [censored] about. Even more beat with a crystal you could barely see through that had been chipped away until it was almost round, but a perfect creamy dial underneath. Have we ever had a thread on why Rolex is the only watch that really looks good beat up?
  8. We're going to need a virtual "have you been scammed" GTG to have a few beers after all this .
  9. I object to the way Polish Americans are being portrayed in this thread
  10. Clearly some sort of ban is in order here. This is much too nice!
  11. Glad they didn't give you any grief about it. What amazes me is how some of the salespeople handle the watches when showing them. I've had more than one guy spin the hands forward a few hours and backwards a few hours and then flip the date around paying no attention to the time on the watch. If he does that for every customer, that's a movement I don't want.
  12. Superfranken...A watch that doesn't even know it's a franken.
  13. I agree with you're second point as well.
  14. What about an Explorer I with gen case/glass/crown/tube with aftermarket dial and ETA? I think the "line" is whether the gen parts are expensive basically. If it's not the dial/case/movement, I agree it's pretty hard to be all that valuable.
  15. Great to know Cromag. Dadwool, don't try to find reps of your favorite watches. Go with the best reps. Cheers.
  16. Well it's number zero out of 150...they were just getting started.
  17. Far too many real tools that are actually appropriate for the job being used here!
  18. Whatdaya think of mine? I may have to ask Ubi to get me one of those bezels
  19. I like the look a lot and it's always amazing how the lettering somehow holds up. You're going to have to really age the crap out of the case ;-).
  20. I must brag. My wife had a 1.75ct ring from her family, so I knew I was screwed. I bought a 1.75ct on eBay for $1000 from the guy in Beverly Hills who sells rolies since he seemed trustworthy (Beckertime I believe). Another $500 locally for a mount with two small diamonds on either side. Perfect color but heavy on the inclusions. However, they are all white so other than a slight loss of brilliance it looks exceptional to the naked eye. The gals go nuts over this thing, much to my satisfaction.
  21. This probably does not meet all your requirements, but check out a PAM 240J from Trusty, Josh, or others.
  22. Have you guys seen the Richard Mille with the g-force meter in the watch? I had the same thought with that.
