  1. What tells us this is any better or different from what is currently on our MG? all I see is a blurry pic.. and maybe a green gasket?
  2. Thank for the heads up. Could it be that this is a problem with the specific batch?
  3. Wow.. Who would have known that from waiting for any version to show up, we would get 7 versions in two days Albeit only two are cases are overlapping and fighting for accuracy (SS/black dial). The rest are either fantasy(SS/blue dial, SS/white dial), frankens (PVD/black) or too rare and wrong (1 of 1) to be believable (RG/white) PS: Love the no-happy-feet logo. The dials in the hont version seem to be matte. The overall finish looks cheaper (bezel button seems flimsy, lume inconsistent, crown guard not flush/of different finish) and that is to be expected at that price.
  4. Lume is blue? Wear it in good health. Looks sharp
  5. I couldn't care less for the happy feet. Or for the fact that the bezel's glass is mineral. Or for the slightly thinner bezel letters... But the non working bezel lock is major let down.
  6. Thank you for the review. I have been eying this one for quite a while now.
  7. Thanks for the review. Any chance of showcasing the difference in the dial finish?
  8. As part of my "get used to smaller watches" effort, I have been sporting this R MG LV lately
  9. I have 3 different H BB: a RG/PC, a SS/SS, and an Ayrton Senna Ceramic/Ceramic. The AS CC always feels fresh, polished, and light. I love all 3 of them, but the difference in weight is noticeable (especially if you wear one of them for a few days in a row, then switch) And you are right, having tried on a few real gold watches, even the standard SS feels feather weight.
  10. Looks great! My only problem is that ceramic cases are almost half the weight of SS/plated ones. I love their lightness/durability but it might feel weird to wear a gold watch with the feather weight of ceramic. BTW even the SS/plated feels light when compared to the genuine gold one. BTW I would get the black ceramic bezel version. More accurate in weight and IMO THE one BigBang to rule them all
  11. I think we will get used to it, exactly like you say we did with the DSSD. Especially if it makes an appearence in the next 007. Look at all the Panerais: they've come a long way from the depths of the Mediterranean sea. My only concern is that there are way too many things that are uncharted territory for the rep makers: the sapphire bezel and the locking system are nothing like anything found in other watches they 've done in the past. The DSSD is an evolutionary watch, where as the PloProf is a breakthrough one. Crossing fingers, and hope I will be proven wrong.
  12. Yes it is ugly. The PloProf is all about function, not form. The odd case share is a result of the crown guard and the bezel-turning safety. The sapphire bezel with the luminous numbers, the orange minutes hand, the contrasting dial with the long indexes are there to maximize the visibility regardless of the conditions. If there is something you don't like on it, it is probably because it is not there to be liked, but because of a function it serves.
  13. bring on the ugly.. BTW: anyone knows which 'factory' is releasing this?
  14. HBB RG no contest... (photos of my 2y old rep )
  15. It might be out of beat too. That would explain why it might look like a stutter. 28800 should look smooth. A good calibration and oiling can do miracles
  16. I think the central display is a roulette complication: you press the crown pusher and the center hand turns to a 'random' number. At least that is what it does in the GEN. BTW great watch and good work on the lugs!
  17. Crossing fingers but there are so many details that they could do wrong.
  18. I have been eying this one for a year now. Tried it on in an airport. It is tall (think SDDS) but with a smooth case and considerably lighter (Ti). There are a few debates going on on the interwebs about the caliber. Some believe it is a quartz and is not worth the money, some claim it is the next gen of mechanical and worth more than Seiko is charging for it. For the precision of it, I would be happier to get a high end quartz, and for the mechanical/diver cred I would chose a second hand sea dweller. Still, the Value is in the eye of the buyer. PS: Some nice offers pop up from time to time in watch u seek.. and there seems to be a liquid market for them, so one could buy second hand and flip at no loss.. here is a tempting example: http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=322707&highlight=sbdb001
  19. Well, seeing that the case has already been repped (in the 100$martk) I am sure it will not be long till we see a proper A7750 version of it.
  20. I wish this could be that easy. Unfortunately the foudroyant at 9 is a chrono display, not running (sub) seconds. The 7750 doesn't provide 8 beats to the chrono seconds (that could be geared to the dial@9). And I doubt that even the 4 beats would be able to move such a heavy mass/rotation. I guess it could be done by connecting to the mainspring and adding some clutch that would release the foudroyant simultaneously with the chrono start.. Good luck keeping all in sync and resetting. And then the foudroyant is not the only complication of the King Power: It has a split seconds chrono, activated by pushing down the crown. I have a better idea, let's just buy a genuine one, put it on a 1.000euro ticket raffle, and at least one of the 18 of us will be happy
  21. Thank you. I will try to add some more pics in the next few days The clasp is better in comfort than the BB. Mind you that out of my 3 BB, I only find one of them to have a clasp that digs into my wrist. (mildly so) Go for a Big Bang first. 44mm size, closer to the GEN, and so many materials/styles to select from. The KP is a beast of a watch that you will appreciate more if it not your first Hublot.
  22. I had decided to get the King Power long before trying on the GEN. Got it from hont, my select dealer for the past few watches.. Flaws? A few, but I couldn't care less: There is no way we will see a foudroyant - split seconds chrono caliber in this price level, and there will always be details missing here and there. What I am more interested in is the actual watch (not as a replication): it is big, but even lighter than my Corum AC (a titanium case). Wears smaller than the diameter suggests. The matte ceramic is stealth, tactical, and the red details make the display readable and focused. Clasp is lighter and is not digging in the wrist. The impression you get from this watch is that it would feel right at home at a survival game or hunting expedition. Compared to it, the Big Bang looks like a dress watch, a prince watch! This is the King, the warrior King. Here is a pic While ordering the KP I decided to order the sinn U1000, to add a bit more blackness to my collection. One more picture. I will call this "Darth Vader meets the Stealth Diver"
