Not too difficult.. sourcing the gen dial would be the hard part, but probably not as hard as others.

+1 for Toro. I've got a deal pending with him now. Puretime has been good to me too... except for that one time...

Last batch of KW PAM292 has a huge CP !!!
mt666tm replied to themannier's topic in General Discussion
To source minute hand try to check the many rep part sales forums. DSN is a good TD to contact for parts. perhaps another TD; Puretime has sourced me hands before. Maybe Toro can help? Or get Gen hands! It is best to get both new minute and hour hands to be sure they match perfect in black finish and lume. -

The solution is simple: CP polish + hand swap! I picked up a 643 with the same problem and thought I'd need to do an H3 CP swap... but when I pulled the hands there was a normal sized CP hiding under the capped minute hand. A quick polish of the CP and a new hand set and problem solved. And luckily I was able to source a Noob ceramic crown too Quick polish with a dremel: KW hands with built-in cap: New hands: Noob Crown: PS: Noob crown is a direct swap to the V6F crown tube... H-Factory crown will not be a direct swap as it has different thread pitch. I got the hands + crown from Oncyte ... and no, he does not have any more. You could source the hands from DSN or another TD. As for the crown, good luck -
Good thread. I've had my eye on one of these for a long time but keep getting cold feet over the details. The Breguet and AP's look good (enough). A friend has one and in-accurate as it is, it's beautiful to look at.

Here's an interesting version of the standard workhorse 6497

Ya, this would be perfect in a bronze horn-lug Pam homage build. Very nice. -
He is using it, I had a few emails back and forth.. last one on Dec 11 before he went dark again. I'm going to try again this week. I have his address, if anyone in Florida wants to pay him a friendly visit and get my parts and send them back ill buy you a bottle of scotch (or whatever you like to drink). If you have a dog, bring it along and get it to take a dump on his lawn

He is very difficult to get ahold of. I sent him a watch to repair + a watch as payment for the work... Probably close to a year ago now. He will reply to an email or two, then disappear again and again. At this point I'd b happy if he just sent my parts back, but I'm not holding my breath. Not able to fix the watch he's offered me a strap to compensate for the watch I gave him as payment (a blue UN). I sent him my return address and still no reply... apparently he started to new job, and is very busy. Fair enough... but come-on! Anyways: blueboost@gmail.com Good luck. If you talk to him please ask him to 'send Marks Rolex parts back' . Lol! Ps: he is not using any rep forums anymore. I did manage to get a PM to him on WatchUseek... then he directed me to use his email for direct communication.

Looks like an H-Fac. I'm guessing by the CG. Hard to tell the color tone of the PVD, but probably a V2 if it's pencil-lead color. V1 if it's darker-black. "In Philadelphia, it's worth 50 bucks."

I chalk it up to x-mas volume... Toro is always on the ball, and has been with me at least. Everything I going to take longer this time of year.
