  1. Stephane, When I asked TTK about this he said it was from the same source as MBW's but said they may have sourced the parts or most of the watch from another manufacturer. This is why I refer to it as "supposed" MBW. It seems Eurotimez 1655 "supposed" MBW is different than the one I purchased as Polexpete mentioned. The case is still a good base though, I did not want to deal with the lug holes when I had it. I have to say my 1655 was by far one of my most anticipated projects too especially knowing the Omega hands could be fitted to the mvmt. Keep us posted on the progress my friend!
  2. Very nice Laz, congratulations on both!
  3. Nice find on the Doxa Nanuq! Can't wait to see the new kids.
  4. I hear ya Dadog it's a bit tiring! Perhaps, Chris (Eurotimez) could persuade his MBK contacts to put some together; with their 5513 as the base -there's not a lot to change. I think Tudor Snowflake MBK/MBW's would sell well too!
  5. Hi guys, I'm quite confident that the version Arty has is the same as the "Top Grade Vintage" offering from Andrew. The "Top Grade" was one of the three 1655's I owned at one point to cobble together a franken (although, I believe Lanikai has passed me up owning 4 of them ). The crown guards are the tell all that it's the same watch by their shape. This is also the one Dluddy used for his 1655. To my eyes this version is underscaled in that the proportions of the dial and bezel are too small compared to a gen which is why I didn't use it as the base for my 1655. See the comparison pix below from a review I did long ago (TTK's "MBW" on the left and Andrew's Top Grade on the right). That's just my $.02 and it's worth what you pay for it .
  6. Yikes, I bought a set with a nice creamy patina for my gen 7016/0 on ebay less than a year ago for under $150.
  7. Thank you as always for the kind words R! Vlad, one is a franken and one is gen .
  8. That's a redial/aftermarket, it may be a gen base though.
  9. Very nice results, great job Freddy!
  10. 1665 today I had a few improvements done to it recently: a nice thin twinlock crown added and swapped out the insert for one with an aged lumi pearl in it.
  11. Stephane, one more vintage project to add the list isn't going to hurt.... right?
  12. It's such an evil hobby isn't it, perhaps bordering on obsession!!! Between RWG and madness -there's obsession... If you have a 1655 straight seconds hand left over in the parts bin I'd be happy to buy it R. With all those parts left I always thought the custom Oliver Shepard 1655 with GMT dial would be fun piece to recreate .
  13. Perry, Try pinging Vaccume since it looks like you're in the US, I believe he offers the service. -TMG
  14. You photos are always a treat Bazz, great watch!
  15. R, Perhaps add trivia and silly horological facts to every month as well.
  16. RobbiG, Bear in mind a gen 1680 dial will not fit in a MBW/MBK case (it's a hair large) unless you have it trimmed down or the case has to be milled larger to accomodate the dial. The white print 1680 MBK dial is more accurate IMO than the 1680 red. I'm with Freddy, a vintage relume would be a lot less hassle. Good luck on your project!
  17. Really fast -3 days! Thank you again K, this is one of the burliest straps I've ever owned. I'm breaking it in right now .
  18. One of my favorites too BT! 6152 today with a new V greek hide strap with GPF Mod Dep buckle
  19. Thank you S and D, this seems to be my beater these days! You both are rolling with nice choices too .
  20. More like $35K and up
