  1. These new Rolexes have copped a bit of flak for their large digit design, but they look very elegant, understated. Great design ;o)
  2. Haha very, very nice ;o) Thread the strap through the eyelet, it should make sense after that. As you break in the strap, I'd suggest massaging the leather with your fingers, otherwise if you bend it there's a chance it can split. Good luck mate ;o)
  3. Where's G-Star? G-Star and Diesel all the way..
  4. You're welcome anytime mate On a recent wine acquisition tour, I came across a new place... And found these beauties: I'd be far more impressed if those clowns on MTV Cribs had a bottle of Penfolds rather than this crap:
  5. - Sporting a Titanium PAM Custom from Mr. Mickey Padge in the UK, cheers :o)

Had three comments in one day on this one, the girls seem to like the birthday-suit Militare... ;o)

  6. Brings a tear to the eye, doesn't it fellas Give him two weeks and he'll be asking us about Sunken DW mods, slide rule alignment and 7753 conversions ;o)
  7. What a great post Mate, look up 'automatic watches' on Wikipedia, you should be set ;o)
  8. Sucks to be uninformed... But it's not really eBay's responsibility, it's really up to the buyers to be savvy on these matters, but considering how much money eBay makes, having a group of people vetting complaints such as those from the good folks here at RWG and for any and all other such fields would be a really great thing - only problem is eBay would be shootin itself in the foot as it profits based on commissions from sales... The higher the sale price the more eBay makes. It sucks but eBay could make it happen...
  9. Milgauss = awesome iPhone 3G(s?) = not so much What on earth happened to your poor phone?
  10. Welcome on board from a southern Melbournite brother ;o)
  11. The biggest tell is definitely the caseback P and O lettering. Someone will get sheared heavily on this purchase. It'll hit a thousand quid easily.
  12. I have a Citizen Calibre 8700 which has seen all manner of abuse and has run like an absolute champ. In terms of reliability and performance, there is not even a question that quartz watches are better in every conceivable way in that regard. I think a nice Seiko Arctura/Velatura/Sportura or Citizen Eco Drive, the Calibre series stand out as affordable but gorgeous, either should serve you well for years and years. When my last one stopped working, I just went and bought another one, it's nice to upgrade every few years, AND it makes economic sense ;o)
  13. That's some horological bukkake right there... and 'someone' has a HBB addiction methinks :op
  14. Tried this 2005 Penfolds St. Henri last night as part of a wine + cheeses appreciation thing, brings Friday night work drinks to a whole new level )
  15. Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Is it here yet?
  16. If it is, I should report you to the cops, I have two of yours! ;o)
  17. Probably a return email address after a question asked...
  18. That actually looks pretty good... *awaits a By-Tor Beatdown*
  19. I got you all beat... He'd despise this the most, for at least four different reasons I can count... ;o) Holla at ya boy dawg... ;o)
  20. The Seiko Kinetic series are automatic movements only in that they have a rotor to supply energy. Where they differ from proper automatic movements is that the 'kinetic' energy produced by the spinning rotor is transferred into electrical energy through a small dynamo and stored in a capacitor. The watch runs a traditional quartz-type movement. The complications are computerized by microchips, not by springs and levers and gears as in our automatic movements ;o) Now the Seiko Spring Drive... That's an entirely different kettle of fish. That uses a spinning rotor to produce electricity to power a microchip, but this is used to calibrate a traditional mainspring against a quartz oscillator, so you get the extreme accuracy of a quartz with the sweeping seconds hand of a traditional automatic. These represent what I consider true innovation in watch design. Though the Sky Moon Tourbillon by PP is really something too... ;o)
  21. What a tank of a watch... looks like it should be hanging on a wall!
