I'm giving this old thread a bump.
As some may remember, dvn recently put up this beautiful black Daydate for sale. I came back and looked at it constantly. We exchanged PMs but I resisted the urge for only 1 reason. I am looking for the white dial version with a foreign day wheel. It's calling out to me! Strange, but I am sure you've all been there.
I've considered buying a gen Tudor which are relatively inexpensive And swapping out the day wheel for maybe a German or Spanish day wheel.
Any ideas to get me started?
Thanks
Congrats mate. I actually did the opposite.I sold my gen 16610. A while back to fund a variety of high quality reps.
Though I admit a gen is tops, I just love having variety in the morning. And, I'm not as rich as those guys on VRF to afford 15 gens!
Enjoy your new sub!
Thanks guys. This morning, I put it back on, wound it up and by the time I had put the caseback on, it was loose again!
J, I meant not deep enough. I can't get a good enough grip because it's so shallow. I will pick up some blue loctite in the morning and hopefully it works.
If not, I'll have to send it out!
The one positive i see is the crystal. The old SSDs had that huge etched crystal at 6 o'clock. This new version seems to have none.
Maybe we can swap out the crystal of the older models and replace with this new one?
Looking for positives, fellas...
I have a lose rotor screw that no matter how tight I screw, keeps coming lose. I think it's because I can't get it tight enough as the top of the screw is almost flat and my screwdriver can barely squeeze in there.
Anyone know where I can dig one up? I've been to a couple of watch smiths but they can't seem to find any around!
Thanks
I'm more interested in the Rubber B rep so if I'm hijacking this thread, sorry.
Please let us know on the strap! I've been itching for one but couldn't find myself to fork over $200 on rubber.
I have a rep insert that looks very much like Freddy's except I have no pearl. I purchased a vintage pearl but it did not fit. That's why I've decided to go with a gen insert with pearl.
My DRSD dial is an NDT dial with some PB patina lume on it. I find my that greyish-blue insert looks better on my great white dial which has a similar look as Freddy's (ie no yellowish patina).
Well, that explains it! My ignorance. Since I had been told that the insert for the 16600 did not fit the 16610, I had incorrectly assumed that the 1680 would not fit the 1665.
Thanks
I just picked up a used MBW great white on a trade. I will post pics as soon as I can but the dial appears "sunk" on the left at 9 o'clock. At first, I thought the plexiglas was playing tricks on me. But it's definitely lopsided.
Is this an easy fix?
Thanks
