I love this show! I love how this Rolex is an integral part of the story as it was left to her by her dad.
Also spotted a Daytona on her love interest - the rich one, not the bar owner!
On another note, anyone watch PanAm? I noticed 2 pilots wearing Pepsi GMTs. Very nice touch.
Bought a used Bergeon and I love it. It's the best investment I made considering I swim daily and often flip. I went to a few local watch smiths and most either overcharged or wouldn't test as they figured it was a rep since I wasn't bringing it to my AD!
i am always amazed by the collective knowledge here!!!
When i read thses posts, I realize that I know absolutely nothing about Rolex watches.
Thanks for the humbling me...
I removed the pearl and tried without the pearl. It's fine now. So, probably too much of that sticky stuff behind the pearl. I've been sing shoe goo on the insert and behind the pearl - a layer that covers the hole glued to the left and right. What is a good option for the pearl?
I just noticed that the insert on my 16610 is not flat on the bezel at 12 o'clock. I removed it, cleaned it and re-glued. It was flush with the bezel - perfect.
I let it dry for 24hrs. I popped the bezel back on the watch and then it "lifted" again ever so slightly. This only happens at 12 o'clock. I assume there is something pushing against the back of the pearl but all is clean.
Ay tips? I bought the watch used and I assume this was the condition it was in when it arrived. I never really checked until I noticed it.
Thanks
I understand that it's generally accepted that a gen crystal will not fit on a noob SSD.
Also, most agree that the large LEC at 6 o'clock is annoying.
My question is whether any other crystals would fit the bill? Perhaps from another watch, another make. The no cyclops crystal may give us options.
Does anyone have the measurements of the SSD crystal? Has anyone attempted with any other crystal?
Thanks
Nope! I contacted him several months ago as I wanted a 3rd bezel for the Coke insert. No luck!
I decided to abandon the black insert since I have enough black watches.
As others have said, the octagon clip is missing and that's what holds the bezel to the case. No clicks and spins smoothly both ways.
Hopefully, BK can dig one up for you.
Thanks, LH. I was hoping you would chime in. I spent many nights reading the John Mayer controversy and this "refinished" dial threw me off. It's a fascinating debate, though!
As for the current listing from ND, the Newman dial is listed at 1,500$! Definitely pricey for an Asian dial.
Thanks for clearing that up.
It's strange because If you do a search of NDT on VRF or TRF, they claim that all the dials are fakes.
There's a vintage Daytona dial currently listed which is a Paul Newman exotic dial but has the ROC and Daytona on the dial. Was such a dial ever produced?
I'm looking for some opinions on NDT dials. (just realized the typo in the title) I've seen their name come up often in vintage builds and am wondering what your overall experience as been.
Thanks
Started with a gen 16610. Bought a new rep ceramic black Sub. Sold my gen. Sold my rep. Bought a BK Sub C. Sold it.
Bought some vintage pieces. Love them. In my sub watch box, , I have a blue Sub-C and a 16610 WM9 LV that I alternate black/green. Just received a Red Sub. It looks stunning. It as such a history.
I love them all. The beauty about reps is that you can enjoy many different watches.
Enjoy your Sub-C. I miss my black one but how many black subs can a guy own?!
