  1. Cannot be 100% certain, especially without good, clear macros of the surface texture (very difficult to replicate the natural patina of 40 years of age/use), but it looks good. That said, consider its condition, I think I would opt for a PMWF or, if you can afford a couple hundred $, another gen in better condition.
  2. Ditto Nanuq's comments & I would (&, prior to going gen, did) go with Clarks.
  3. Ditto on the Perfect Clones recommendation. Reliable seller with reasonable customer service in case there is a problem.
  4. Sorry, I do not have any spare Clarks xtals at the moment. Maybe someone else has 1 that he can measure for you. I do believe that Clark's bezels are made to fit around gen-style (sized) xtals & the xtals that come fitting to most rep watches are slightly different dimensions. Sometimes, slightly larger & sometimes smaller. But I have experienced problems getting bezels to fit on rep cases after replacing a rep Rolex xtal with a gen.
  5. I believe the outside dimensions of Clark's crystals are similar to their gen counterpart, while most rep lenses tend to vary in OD, which would explain the fitment problem.
  6. Those prices look like the standard retail prices when Rolex or an AD replaces parts during service. I think you can get similar prices on ebay or the gen sites. Still good to have another source, but the parts I listed, while common, very rarely appear for sale anywhere & would probably be of interest to alot of RWG members. So I would be interested if you can get any of the Daytona or Seadweller parts I listed through your source.
  7. What is the cost of the 93150 SS bracelet? How about a 116520 Daytona bezel (part 313-16520) & caseback (part 313-2100)? Endlinks for a 1665 Seadweller (part 585)?
  8. White on the EXII.
  9. What you see is just a flange on the case. The trouble is that there are a variety of ways rep case makers have gone about affixing bezels to cases & they are not always done the same way it is done on the gen case. Your case looks alot like the Silix case I used for my Phase 1 6542, which had a similar flange (that I had to grind off to get the gen-style bezel to fit). That is probably why Clark's bezel did not fit onto your case. Unfortunately, you may need to try a couple different aftermarket bezels before you find 1 that fits properly.
  10. Ending the work week wearing my 'Graph Deluxe
  11. Not to worry, this is normal for international shipments going to US or some parts of EU. Local mail often cannot track during shipment until package reaches home country's customs. Once there, the tracking should update. If it does not update for 2 weeks, forward the tracking history to shipper to investigate.
  12. Sorry, I cannot answer this either, except to say that the price seems very low for Rolex gold 'bars.
  13. Looks good & I love the white seconds hand. If you can tone down the yellowish tint on the dial & age the bezel a bit, that will bring it up a notch.
  14. Glad to hear you located the missing screw. Most of the parts supply houses (ofrei.com, cousinsuk.com, etc) sell packs of various screws. If you plan to be opening cases in the future, it would be a good idea to purchase some just in case.
  15. Welcome to RWG & the realization that most gen owners know nothing (about watches). You are also likely to discover that the quality of photographic images here rivals (& often betters) that seen on the gen sites.
  16. Yes, which is why Rolex has sold so many Subs for so many decades to so many people. Great watch.
  17. Any part a dealer can get can also be found on ebay or in the for sale sections of gen sites. That said, after Rolex tightened the reigns on the re-sale of parts by those within their service network a couple of years ago, I would wait to make any offers here until you have a concrete offer there. Either way, finding the most commonly requested parts (crystals, crowns, bracelets, handsets, dials, etc) at more reasonable prices than you normally see on ebay would be alot more useful than a list of hard-to-find parts.
  18. Not just well-written, but I think that may be the best, fairest & most accurate overview of the Rolex brand I have ever read. Thanks.
  19. archie - have you ever heard of punctuation? It makes it easier for others to interpret what you write. But if I understand your gist of your streaming character generation, it sounds like you have gen hands, which are not made to fit ETA (or other non-Rolex) movements. If the hands came from Yuki, that is definitely the problem. Try Clarks on ebay. He has good aftermarket hands made to fit ETAs. Or buy a used rep watch to get the hands you need.
  20. That is just a standard DayDate with Gramco (which I assume is a company name) printed on the dial. I cannot say that I have ever seen a replica of a DayDate with that company name on the dial before, but some of the dealers listed on RWG will customize a rep watch to order. Send the pic of the dial to Joshua or Andrew or some of the other dealers & see if they can locate or make it up for you (no idea of the cost). A warning - the 'gold' used on flashed/plated/capped (or whatever term a dealer uses on) rep watches tends not to wear as well as a the (solid) gold used on genuine Rolex watches. So I would either keep this watch for special occasions, where it is not likely to get dinged or exposed to any caustic substances, or go with a stainless steel watch. Generally speaking, Rolex did not offer the Daydate in steel, but steel is hard to tell apart from white gold, which Rolex does use, so only a knowledgeable collector (& some women) will be able to detect the difference.
  21. Between the lugs Of my
  22. Point taken. But the only aftermarket insert I have come across that is in the same league as a gen is the PMWF. If that 1 is unavailable, I think your only choice is to wait or go gen.
  23. As has been described in other threads, the 1st series of secs @ 6-powered Daytonas appear to be much heartier than later series (my 6-or-7-year old is still going strong). Glad to see the Daytona's magic is still working wonders
  24. Gentlemen - Please post 'babes' (and other non-watch content) to the appropriate (Bits, bytes & babes) forum.
