Not sure that your epiphany ranks as very newsworthy (this has been common knowledge for decades), but I would love to know more about who attended & what, if any, new economic insights were proffered?

The 1st mp3 player, upon which the iPod was based, was 1st seen at Diamond Labs. Based on Steve's history of putting pretty covers on others' ideas & calling them his, to paraphrase a line from the movie Paper Moon -- if Steve's selling it, you can bet it was invented by someone else.

Jobs was certainly 1 of the world's greatest product marketers. With insanely great timing/luck, more drive than a starving bulldog & an artist's eye for re-branding (or theft, depending on whether you are reading this on an Apple product or not), Jobs was able to squeeze unimaginable profits out of Apple's rocky success. Requiescat in pace Steve.

Rep DJ cases are very close to the gens. So, if buying a gen is out of the question, I would just buy a rep & swap the crown/tube for gen parts to increase longevity.

You just have to keep working your way around the circumference. Use firm, but not excessive force &, eventually, it will slide off. If you are worried about damaging something, take it to a watchmaker & let him remove it for you. He ought to be able to do it while you wait (it only takes a few minutes).

The bezels are different (SDs are taller/thicker), but the inserts for the 5512/5513/5514/1680 & 1665 are interchangeable.

The thread's theme made it unavoidable & thank you. Interestingly, that pic has become a perennial fav over at TZ (1 of the senior members just re-posted it again as 1 of his 5 fav watch pics last week), VRF & a couple other gen sites. Someone told me it is in someone's book as well.
