  1. Wearing Phase 1 today
  2. Most of the ETAs that we use come with 2 bumps on the detent spring/set bridge, each of which provide a 'stop' for each of the 2 stem positions. You need to grind off 1 of the bumps, which leaves only the 1 'stop' on the stem (for time-setting). I did this with my Phase 1 '42. Alternately, with some ETAs, you have the option of different detent springs, 1 having only 1 bump (for setting time) & the other having 2 bumps (for time & date settings). There are a few threads detailing this, but I cannot find them via the search. If I come across 1 of them, I will update this with a link.
  3. The clasp in your last pic is correct for the 720x bracelet. The end links that Rolex fit for a Daytona are 71s, which are rare/expensive. No idea where to find them other than patiently browsing ebay & gen sites. You may be able to source rivets & pins from here.
  4. Not sure what the confusion is? You can check out any gen site to see the correct hands.
  5. Remember this?
  6. Not many watchmakers around today who can execute that level/quality of lathe work. You are truly a Master, Ziggy.
  7. Did you visit any other notable (watch-related) sites before your return home?
  8. American ingenuity.
  9. English spoken here.
  10. All - There is nothing wrong with discussing politics, but, as this has veered off the OP's original theme, I think it is fair & time to take that discussion into a thread of its own.
  11. Very important detail
  12. Partially. If a case is made to fit a gen movement, then the crown should be aligned properly. My gen-powered Double Red has an MBW mid-case & the crown (also gen) looks centered to me
  13. I hope they move.
  14. Sorry to hear the bad news, but glad to hear you purchased from a seller with integrity.
  15. Thanks All. I love these old rolled-link jubilees, too. Here is another pic that shows the links from a different perspective
  16. To those of you who are offline (when online) - Scroll up to the top of this page. In the top right-hand corner, does it say Sign In or Sign Out?
  17. Like they said (delete browser cookies/cache). Also, be sure you are logged into the system. Since the upgrade, I have found myself, twice, logged-out without having ever actually logged out. I am not sure why that happened, but you should check your status as well.
  18. That '75 on the bottom looks outstanding. I think that is the GMT model that looks best on a jubilee. Great pic, too. Well done.
  19. Rolex pricing has been driving buyers crazy for 25 years. All I can say is, if you can't stand the heat......... And you cannot really compare the likes of Omega & Zenith with Rolex. Different animals. Paying Rolex prices is all part of the fun (in the Rolex world, the term 'fun' should be interpreted in the same vein as a 'blue screen' is interpreted as a feature of Windows) of Rolex ownership. After all, if everyone could afford Rolex prices, then it would not be an exclusive brand. But, on the other hand, like I always say, today's outrageous Rolex prices will be tomorrow's Rolex bargains.
