  1. Yes, that is what it is (the V726 is an improved V72 & is similar to Rolex's 727, minus the Bruget Overcoil & MicroStella).
  2. Yes
  3. No. Texas is several hundred miles west of the US east coast, well out of Irene's path.
  4. Outstanding pic
  5. Ending the work week driving & wearing my beaters
  6. If that is what you do when the power if off................
  7. Not to be a downer, but were these purchased from a 'Top-rated seller' with an extensive selling history of gen Rolex parts?
  8. If I had not just dumped all of my spare cash into the z, I would order 1 of these just to take it apart, clean, lube & see how she runs on a timer after a proper overhaul. Now, where are those cloned 103xs, 157xs & V72s?
  9. Interesting. I wonder if that is a balance bridge partially hidden beneath the rotor? If it is, now, that would be something.
  10. I would pretty much mirror Ubi's recommendations. However, there are times/watches that really look better (more authentic/less suspicious) when they appear aged/worn. In those cases, 1 of Nanuq's more saner ideas works well - place the case (without the movement or crystal) into a coffee can full of coins, screws & nuts & shake until the desired effect has been achieved. Or, you can just put the watch on & perform a clutch job on your car. That did the trick for 1 of mine (though I needed a new crystal by the time I drove the car away ).
  11. Ending the work week washing cars with wearing my beater
  12. Note distance between bottom of crown & dots
  13. All the DWs & Valjoux-powered frankens I have come across have screwed-in tubes. However, I have seen a few cases where the hole for the tube (&/or pushers) was cut a bit too large. You can search out numerous posts (1 or 2 by me) that describe the options.
  14. Again, this is an issue of pathology within culture, not race. This culture of pathology affects whites, blacks, browns, etc. Not quite sure how this keeps being confused with pride, which is not the issue (I am referring to) at all. Until the 1970s, the vast majority of people who came to the great melting pot that is the USA came to become Americans. Ask any US senior citizen who emigrated to the US from Europe or Asia at the turn of the last century what nationality they are. Of course, the question is rhetorical, because nearly all would say 'American' & their country is the United States of America. And these people would have said the same thing the day they received their citizenship. Sadly, that is no longer the norm, especially for people immigrating to the US (often illegally) through its southern border or the UK/EU from Muslim countries.
  15. Your comments illustrate part of the problem - willful naivete &/or a simple refusal to face facts. I was not criticizing the guy's pride, only his misplaced allegiance. If, after spending more than half his live in California (USA), he still identifies himself as Mexican, the USA has a problem. It does & that is my point. Asians & Europeans came/come to America to BE Americans, not Asians or Europeans. And that has been the case for the past 100+ years. But something shifted in the 70s, so that immigrants, especially Mexicans entering the US (especially those who enter the country illegally) & asylum seekers entering the UK/EU (especially those from Muslim cultures), no longer aspire to assimilate into the indigenous society of their host countries. And that is a BIG problem.
  16. I figured that was the case. Pretty difficult for the driver to take his own pic (including both hands) while driving. Still, great pics. So, who is the driver & what were you doing in the back?
  17. And then blame everyone (bankers, government, etc) but themselves when the inevitable bill came due. Again, this is a cultural pathology, nothing more.
