  1. Quite normal for a movement that requires cleaning or is out of beat (requires servicing), or both.
  2. I could be wrong, but I think Rolex began fitting 9315s to Subs around the time 'Sgt. Pepper' came out (1967).
  3. Wearing le Aryan 'Master
  4. If this sells at or above the minimum bid ($3,999), then we can officially declare vintage Rolex back to pre-crash levels & the sky is, once again, the limit.
  5. I would test those feet before installing the dial. I did something similar a few years ago (as well as various attempts at soldering feet onto dials) &, initially, thought they were stuck on for good. But, in the end, no matter what epoxy, cement or adhesive I tried, the feet always ended up falling off. It helps (a bit) if you lightly grind the mounting face of the feet as well as the area on the back of the dial where the feet will come into contact before you mount them.
  6. Looks good so far, but what are the construction details?
  7. The bee was real (large) & he was quite accommodating since I had to keep my hand in position until he stopped moving long enough to snap the pic.
  8. Wearing Phase 1 today
  9. Most of the ETAs that we use come with 2 bumps on the detent spring/set bridge, each of which provide a 'stop' for each of the 2 stem positions. You need to grind off 1 of the bumps, which leaves only the 1 'stop' on the stem (for time-setting). I did this with my Phase 1 '42. Alternately, with some ETAs, you have the option of different detent springs, 1 having only 1 bump (for setting time) & the other having 2 bumps (for time & date settings). There are a few threads detailing this, but I cannot find them via the search. If I come across 1 of them, I will update this with a link.
  10. The clasp in your last pic is correct for the 720x bracelet. The end links that Rolex fit for a Daytona are 71s, which are rare/expensive. No idea where to find them other than patiently browsing ebay & gen sites. You may be able to source rivets & pins from here.
  11. Not sure what the confusion is? You can check out any gen site to see the correct hands.
  12. Remember this?
  13. Not many watchmakers around today who can execute that level/quality of lathe work. You are truly a Master, Ziggy.
  14. Did you visit any other notable (watch-related) sites before your return home?
  15. American ingenuity.
  16. English spoken here.
  17. All - There is nothing wrong with discussing politics, but, as this has veered off the OP's original theme, I think it is fair & time to take that discussion into a thread of its own.
