  1. I am fairly certain it is & I do think it is something more complex than that, but the guy who has been administering our servers retired & it has been many years since I have maintained a Unix box. If you can direct me, I will check SMTP authentication.
  2. This has nothing to do with RWG... This is a mail server unrelated to RWG. If you know what a DOS attack is, then you can see that this is not that. Based on the screenshot, I think they are using our server to send email to or through AOL. But, more than that, I do not know. Finding out what that error in the screenshot means is why I posted here. Anyone with Unix admin experience see this error before & know how to permanently block these 2 IPs (the .htaccess in / is not affecting them).
  3. For the past several days, I have been seeing a significant rise in activity on our FreeBSD mail server. So, today, I began running netstat -an | more to see who is doing what. I found 2 IPs (64.12.88.131 & 64.12.88.163 - both AOL IPs... though I suspect it is the same person) logging in every few minutes. When I see them on, I disconnect them with tcpdrop. I have also added 64.12.88 to the .htaccess in the root... but they continue to reappear. Just a few minutes ago, I noticed that when I tcpdrop'd them, the following message would appear (I'm logged in as root at the console & the root account is disabled on the network side) & it looks like this person was attempting to either send or generate email through our server (even though I am the only user logged on). Can anyone recommend a more permanent way to block these IPs or how to prohibit them from generating AOL email through our server?
  4. Looks to be of recent (Asian) vintage........ $130, without knowing what is inside, would be a more accurate value.
  5. Ditto ceejay's comments. I don't see any obvious issues with the hairspring.
  6. As usual, Philipp produces great articles with copious details that are well worth a read. However, I disagree that a watch found in his 'Catalog style' is best, owing to the fact that Rolex often used a pre-production (unreleased) version of a model for their early marketing only to change details for the actual production run. When 1 of these 'Catalog style' watches are found, it turns out to be a franken assembled by an over-educated fanboy or Rolex 'authority'.
  7. Logged out & in 3 times without incident.
  8. If your particular rep case was made to gen specs, a gen bezel will fit. Otherwise, not.
  9. Assuming you are using a gen case, as long as you are not trying to fit a bezel from a standard (vintage) case onto 1 of the newer maxi-sized cases (or vice-versa), it should fit.
  10. Wearing my 'Graph today Nice 214! Although I am not wearing my Accutron today, here are a few pics for your perusal -
  11. This is probably obvious to many, but the reasons for the use of inaccurate hands (or insert part type here) in projects are as varied as the goals of the individuals who build them. Some are due to ignorance, some to laziness, some to inaccessibility (of gen or accurate repros) & some due to cost. On the other hand, with a lot of luck & when time, motivation & finances take a back seat to experience/knowledge & a dogged pursuit perfection (or as much of it as is obtainable within reason..........well, almost reason), you can exceed the typical
  12. & therein lies the missing link in today's maternalized, indiscriminate PC society.
  13. I remember $23/gal gas, you got a set of glasses with a fill-up & the uniformed station attendant pumped the gas & washed your windows to boot. Your tv, while small, was completely free of the whizzing, whirring & flashing adverts that soil our screens today. A trip to the movies included 3 features, $0.10 candy, no ads & you had the option of staying in your seat & seeing it all again. High schoolers routinely carried rifles to school (the kid across the street carried his openly over his shoulder), there was no such thing as 'mass shootings' or the need for 'gun free zones' & most people safely slept with their front doors unlocked. Oh & nice C+I by the way.
  14. Wearing a bit of Mystery today
  15. Nice 1st post, but I have to say that I am doubtful (to the point of complete disbelief) of any connection to or with Rolex SA. Do you have any provenance (Rolex book reference, original Rolex paperwork, reliable online reference, etc) that supports your premise?
  16. Ditto all of the above.
  17. robertk - Nicely done!
  18. Unfortunately, while Phong does deal in some genuine parts, I do not believe he has a Rolex parts account, so I would assume any parts you receive from him are non-genuine until/unless proven otherwise. Here is a pic of a 1 of my older gen 700 crowns (originally purchased via Rolex service network) to add to the others for reference
  19. This may be helpful.
  20. Ditto & the seller's provenance is the only real key to authenticity with small, unbranded parts like this.
  21. Looks like a brand new rep, but I can appreciate the work that went into it.
