  1. Wearing my usual beater today
  2. Here are a few oldies for you
  3. I believe the GMTIIC's DW has non-serifed fonts. Does the Corum 2893 provide the correct handstack order or functions, or is your purpose in using it mainly to improve reliability over the stock 'ETA' unit?
  4. Keep the suit on (the watch looks good). My usual beater Sunday eve
  5. Wearing my usual beater today (Saturday)
  6. Yes, but once the bridge is removed, some of the chrono components will shift their positions (which are held in place by the bridge) & these must be reset during bridge reinstallation. This is why I suggested it may be best to have a professional handle this for you.
  7. Beginning the new year with my trusty beater (left)
  8. Ditto & the color of the numbers in the OP's bezel seems unusually dark compared to others I have seen (including my own). Correct hand stack (looks/functions same as gen) I replaced crown/tube & crystal with gens Mine is from the 1st batch & has been keeping COSC time since new The biggest tell on mine is the misaligned & laser etched (as opposed to engraved) ROLEXROLEXROLEX around the inner flange
  9. I cannot make out the lettering on the new dial (a single straight-on 1024x768 pic would help), but I assume the A on the new dial is flat.
  10. Wearing an OPD today Not sure yet, but probably this again tonight
  11. 1st, I would try something with a point instead of a flat blade, which may be coming into contact with the adjoining plate (keeping the release from being depressed sufficiently). Some of these can be fairly stiff, but, again, I would try a small nail or safety pin 1st.
  12. Today Tonight (Bezel not installed fully in this pic) Everyone have a safe & happy New Year (even though I am posting this 1.5 days before NYE).
  13. Excised - right post/wrong day.
  14. Silix moved things around on their website, but as of last month, the CG-less Cartier Sub was still listed.
  15. There should be a setting for image size. These later pics are better, but I would bet the camera is capable of larger image sizes - 1024x768 pixels is about prime for most screen sizes.
  16. Ceramic GMT Tuesday
  17. Ditto Flex. That is the cheapest/easiest approach.
  18. While the cat's away, huh? Great pic of a pair of classics.
  19. Anything from Bergeon should be fine (ofrei, julesborel, cousinsuk, etc). I would steer clear of the cheap off-branded tools.
  20. Wearing my Tudor today
  21. It looks like the Eurotimez crew is on this afterall, but a word of caution regarding lost package claims with the post office...... In my experience, it usually takes the post office weeks (if not months) to research a lost package. In the end, they almost always just tell you to contact the shipper to have them register a claim at their end, which results in more wasted time (& no package). Once a package goes wayward in the mail, I just write it off.
  22. Bergeon used to sell a dial foot soldering machine, but it was very expensive & I have not seen it listed in any of their recent catalogs. A couple years ago, I tried to construct 1 based on the 1 in this book, but it fried the business side of every dial I tested it on
  23. Although this will work, it is not a permanent solution because, eventually, the adhesive on dial dots/double-sided tape will loosen & the dial will shift its position. In addition, if not carefully applied, you also run the risk of getting adhesive into the date-change components, which will then cause the date change to either malfunction or function abnormally slow. The only permanent way to install a dial is with its dial feet locked in place within the movement. It is possible to reposition dial feet, but it requires a special soldering device (made to solder dial feet onto dials) & very few watchmakers have the device or know how to properly reposition the feet without damaging the dial face. And before anyone asks, I do not have the device (though I did try to construct 1 once, unsuccessfully), nor do I know a watchmaker who does.
