  1. In the past, calendars, books & galleries have been proposed, but, due to the amount of time/work required, none has ever gotten off the ground. If anyone has the time to commit (I do not), you are welcome to include any of the pics I have posted on RWG as long as they remain unmodded .
  2. Ditto that. Ubi knows this, but for others - Zenith 400 (El Primero) Dia - 30mm, Height - 6.5mm Zenith 410 (El Primero with date) Dia - 30mm, Height - 7.55mm ETA 7753 Dia - 30mm, Height - 7.9mm
  3. If you appreciate the fit-&-finish of a gen (which no commercially made rep can match) or want resale value, get the gen. Otherwise, I find it difficult to justify the price differential.
  4. Generally, ebay.
  5. Richard Brown's Replica Watch Report is probably as good a place to start as any. Toad or someone has a very good guide for noobs in their sig (it really ought to be pinned (even though few noobs ever find/read them)) which, if you can find it, is highly recommended. Also, there used to be a list of rules for new members that contains alot of useful info on how to buy reps, but since the recent site upgrade, I lost track of it. But, like anything else here, if you spend 3 weeks using the Search, you might find it.
  6. Try Joshua & Trustywatchguy (or some of the other collectors) in the Collectors forums, or ebay.
  7. In some (relatively rare) cases, the chrono wheels can get out of alignment. This can sometimes be fixed by stopping, resetting & re-starting the chrono & letting it run for a few minutes. If the chrono works, then stop & reset it & see if the watch runs. Also, try pulling the crown out & manually running the watch through a complete 24-hour cycle. Check again. If both of the above fail, it is time to see the watchmaker.
  8. I am with Demsey (having left the pocket-watch-on-wrist (Pan) fold years ago, I would have left the Illinois as-is). But, that said, what you did is brilliant.
  9. There is some serious metal here, gentlemen. Kudos to all.
  10. Based on past group buys that crashed & burned because they were set up before the product was available, I think I would wait.
  11. If anything, having a shop owned/run by Staff seems more like a bonus than a liability. After all, if you cannot trust Staff to follow through on their promises, who can you trust?
  12. Back to beater
  13. They were supposed to have these a couple of months ago, but I think they were waiting until they received enough orders. Hopefully, whenever they are available, these will have more accurate end link tubes than the 7206s. To avoid problems after the fact, anyone ordering these should specifically ask what springbars the bracelet is made to fit.
  14. Looks good, TeeJay. I know you are not usually after accuracy with your custom designs, but you might search out some of Rolex's wooden dials for inspiration (google or TZ would be good staring points).
  15. Thanks, Nanuq, but I thought you have seen this (multiple times) before. These pics have been appearing in wristies for weeks.
  16. I cannot see how you are going to mask off sections of a crystal without burning off the masking material. The only scheme I can figure that might work would be to take a small, thin sheet of sapphire, sized/shaped to match the underside of the cyclops, AR & then glue it to the underside of the crystal. No idea where to get the sapphire or if a thin sheet can be AR'd though?
  17. Hard to be sure based on the dark pics (which are often a telltale sign of a scam), but it looks aftermarket to me. At least the stamped leaves (coronet looks wrong & never seen the additional coronet at right)
  18. Image Over Function
  19. You have 2 wrists. Why not wear them all?
  20. Not the anti-counterfeit campaign again. There are 2 previous threads (that I know of) on this.
  21. (Very Important) Ditto.
  22. 4x is probably best for all-around use.
