  1. There are many tutorials that you can find via the Search. I would start with Edge's pinned guides posted in the Watch Repair and Upgrades forum.
  2. Correct (no clicks).
  3. Just lucky guesses.
  4. Looks great. But, considering the craftsmen involved, I would expect nothing less than the best. If you want to ice the cake, you might refinish the dial with matte varnish to give it a more gen-line texture (search for 'matte varnish' for details).
  5. 1665 9315/285 or 385 93150/585 (580s will fit, but you asked for 'correct') 1680 7206/80 9315/280 or 380 93150/580 Middle links all hollow.
  6. That is the plan. The purpose of this poll is to demonstrate to Euro that there is enough interest to make it worth his time to see if he can get them made for us (if he is unable to source them from an existing supply). The more (yes) votes, the more likely it is that we will be able to get exactly what we need.
  7. Let's take a poll.
  8. (This is what the gens look like) Eurotimez may be able to source 585 end links for the 1665 if enough people want them. Please let him know here.
  9. No idea. Some Tudor & Rolex hands (of similar design) are interchangeable. If the hands both look the same & are used on similar types of models, chances are they are the similar lengths. The real question is whether the hand tube diameters match? Often, because alot of Tudor movements are based on ETA movements (I believe the 2824 Tudor is a modified ETA 2824), they are different. In some cases, you can enlarge a too-small tube (using a broach - a small, round file used to enlarge holes) & in some cases, you can reduce a too-large tube (using a staking set). But I have never tried to interchange parts from those 2 movements, so I cannot help you there.
  10. Thanks, but I already have those links with the cut-outs in the back. The end links we need have flat sides (no cut-outs). They would also need to fit 2mm diameter springbars through the hoops inside the links (very important). If you find links like the picture I posted, I am sure you will get more than enough orders for them. Anyone else care to comment on the number of people who might be interested in a good 585 end link?
  11. That watch has had more owners than Chrysler. Still, a nice piece. I hope you plan to keep it for awhile.
  12. Most likely, you will soon receive a note explaining that they tried to order the part, but the request came back as 'discontinued'. Try pam
  13. Me likie. 3 questions - Can you make a 'roulette' version of this DW (even numbers in red)? (Look at DW at bottom of pic) Will they fit an ETA 2846? When can I order 1?
  14. Ditto. Took the words right out of my mouth.
  15. To keep my screwdrivers in shape, I use the stuff in the pic I posted.
  16. Yes, I remember that dial now. This all makes sense. Parts of it look very good (the top 3 lines & T SWISS T), but the subdial numbers are wrong. You might send them the pic of the black dial I posted above, noting the 4 in particular & see if they can re-do the subdials (or repaint the entire dial with the correct subdial fonts). They did a couple of (non-Rolex) dials for me & they came back looking almost perfect. And I know they have alot of the original Rolex dial stamps, so it is probably worth asking.
  17. Sorry, no. I have never had a reason to measure hand lengths. Why?
  18. You might want to post this as an official announcement (by itself) in the Rolex forum since virtually every vintage Rolex rep owner will want to swap their round 3 DW for a flat 1.
  19. Feeling a bit introverted today, so I am wearing this old POS
  20. Ditto. Let me know if you find any 585s. If you do & if they are good copies (no obvious flaws), you will probably need alot of them (enough for the remaining 25% of RWG members ). Thanks.
  21. Euro brings up a good point that buyers should understand & (all) sellers should be honest about - Unless your rep has been pressure tested within the past 12 months by a professional watchmaker with the appropriate equipment, you should not assume your watch is waterproof. If you swim/bath/shower with an untested watch & it has not leaked, consider yourself lucky - you are living on borrowed time. And every watchmaker will tell you the same thing.
  22. Bravo, JoJo. A wonderful clan & not small at all. 36mm is the sweet spot for a classic gentleman's watch & anything over 40mm is, to my eye, just showy overkill.
  23. I have always understood that the primary reason not to wear reps into an AD to is keep the AD & gen makers (not to mention the general public) from knowing how accurate the better reps are. The less they know about quality reps, the better able we are to wear them without worrying about being called out or having our sources called in (to a lawyer's office). To paraphrase Mao (or was it Confucius) - If you want to play near bees, it is best to play in the dark.
