  1. Got to love a nice DJ. I think you may have a later datewheel (the 160x wheels typically have the flat-top 3), but that is common on a watch of that age & was probably replaced during a normal overhaul. Otherwise, well done.
  2. Tiffany blue aside (I happen to like it), if you can: 1. reshape/correct the CGs, 2. live with the washed out colors & 3. have the lifestyle (& balls) to pull it off without it looking like a poseur, then, yes, absolutely. Here is the gen for reference
  3. Hi Andyp25 (or is it Andiep25?) & welcome aboard. 1st, pics are mandatory. You cannot come here, blab about having 32 watches in 3 cases without posting at least 1 good, clear pic . 2nd, all of the sellers listed on RWG are known quantities. But, like everything else, some are better than others. Perfect Clones (Josh) is 1 of the best, but, like anything, YOU need to do your homework & research before you hit the buy button. Remember, these are reps, not multi-thousand quid gens (genuine watches). Also, I would recommend that you read Toad's newbie guide along with the forum rules (both pinned atop the Introduction forum, accessible from our home page). Good luck & have fun.
  4. I would never have clipped a gen Sub dial, but, otherwise, ditto above.
  5. Wearing a wee bit of red for Valentine's Day
  6. I thought it looked great to begin with, but the enhanced patination does take it a step further.
  7. Very nice & keep it, unworn, in a soft, padded case if you want it to remain nice.
  8. Ending the week wearing 1 of my Subs
  9. Genuine sapphire crystals are generally scratch proof. To find out about the delivery process or if a particular rep has a genuine sapphire crystal, you will need to direct your question to the rep seller. Most list these types of questions in an FAQ or similar page on their website.
  10. Joshua is 1 of the best. He is generally quick, reliable & has a good selection. That said, before buying a secs @ 6 Daytona from anyone, I would strongly recommend that you use the Search to educate yourself on the reliability issues that plague these movements. There are many threads discussing these that you can easily locate via the Search.
  11. If the item is not as described, all you need to do is refer the item to ebay support & they will investigate &, if it turns out to be a scam, remove it.
  12. I am sorry to hear of your bad luck with MQ. All of my purchases from him have been both positive & exact analogs of his online descriptions.
  13. There are really only 2 things that would cause a caseback not to fit a particular case - either the threads are damaged/defective or they vary in their threading. In either case, unless you have access to the appropriate tap/die or a machine shop, I do not know of any way to correct this. So, unless there is a detail I am missing, returning to the seller is about your only option.
  14. That red SD is still a beauty & I would much rather watch it than the SB.
  15. I like the composition, but you need to work on getting the dial in focus.
  16. I really want to share in your enthusiasm for this, but it just has too many problems. For starters, the dial (which looks like 1 of J&W's), especially in such a mythic (or, possibly, fantasy) model is just wrong. The coronet looks like it was carved (not too successfully) by hand, the subdials are too small & spacing is off, the fonts are wrong (most notably the 3 in the minute counter). The xtal is either not fully seated or is aftermarket (looks too tall, but could simply be a visual anomaly), the crown looks aftermarket, the chrono seconds hand is black (should match the hour/minute hands) & the clasp looks fake. Here is a gen for reference
  17. Looking good & a nice choice for a 1st rep.
  18. Experiment with various pointed objects to 'prick' the surface to replicate the tiny dimples (originally air bubbles that popped).
