  1. Welcome to the forum! And thanks for this perspective that only you could have provided. It's a fascinating piece of the unraveling puzzle over there on VRF. Make yourself at home, friend.
  2. Max, I believe your photo of Spock is the last one ever taken of him! I bet you didn't know that. As they took that, he was taking his last, final step toward Uhura to augment his "staring at her breasts" therapy. RIP Spock.
  3. Hey Nick, I really like the folded oysters on your watches. Are they gen, or where did you get them? Here's one that I just can't pry off my wrist.
  4. I was pretty quickly getting tired of the place, it was nothing but "Look at my Red Sub! Yes, the same one I've been starting new threads about all week!" That, and the flagellation over DRSD pics, who has the best, quickly followed by another "Oh look, have you seen my Red Sub?!" For inserts you can't do much better than these with a pearl from our Irish friend O'Frei.
  5. That's a beauty, and a great goal to pursue. Maybe dluddy will chime in here with his drop-dead-gorgeous gilt Sub?
  6. Bad links..... please try again? They take me to a Googlemail login page.
  7. Hey my springbars are bigger than yours, dude. Seriously, welcome aboard!
  8. Make sure the guts of the crown are good. In mine the inner hex plunger was slipping inside the crown and I couldn't wind my 6536.
  9. I hear ya ... I "dropped" mine once and lost a marker too. Unfortunately, the patient didn't make it.
  10. Did anyone see the Big Bang Theory episode where they buy Drakkar Noir off eBay? I liked that stuff back then.
  11. Nice! What's the source for that bracelet? Gotta have one!
  12. I have 285s on my 1665, they fit great!
  13. "Dirty trick"? Heresy! That's target #1 with bears.
  14. I smell like rust, sawdust, vaguely of salmon and the inside of a bear's mouth.
  15. I don't get it.... why is this story in the news? Everyone knows you can eat a beer like a candybar. Right? http://www.adn.com/2011/12/02/2200054/stranded-nome-man-survives-3-days.html
  16. That's right baby... only wussies use a fishing pole to get their fish.
  17. Ah so you've been watching the "Conquistador" that was up last few weeks? Good thing you saved your money.
  18. @Ronin, you mentioned the inimitable SUB300 Beads of Rice.... do tell, aren't you the one that just bought the last Black Lung? I'll add another vote for the Doxa Beads of Rice. After that, an oooooooooold worn out 9315. Very nice.
  19. That's a beautiful Certina! Does it have the "turtle" caseback? I've had my eye out for one like that with an orange dial for quite some time. I might have something for you. I bought a LeJour 990 Superman a few years ago because it has the classic domed crystal and the bezel insert is clear bakelite with back printing. It's got a lot of "Blancpain Fifty Fathoms" look about it. Since I took these pictures I put on a new dial and hands, they're much more distinct, much like an Omega Seamaster 300. Utterly cool. I'll be happy to send it to you if you'd like. It's not your dad's watch but it's nice and it's a step toward a "domed watch" collection. Just PM me your address.
  20. Thanks for taking the time to make the detailed report. This will help a lot of people. We have also had a few people register recently, and immediately begin spamming PM boxes. We're banning as fast as they pop up; if you get something fishy in your PM box, let us know quickly. -Admin staff
  21. I gave one away. Keep your eyes open, they're out there cheap.
  22. Here's a "desktop" from my iPhone ... a bit of a breeze blowing tonight, already over 100mph and building.
