  1. You got that right, he'd make a heck of a good hat and mittens.
  2. Here's the most feral critter in the woods!
  3. That's a pretty dial.... where did you find it on eBay?
  4. Sticky it is! Let's support the forum guys, VIP is cheap and just think of the untold riches waiting to be revealed in the Supporters lounge......
  5. No kidding, this is a visit by Royalty! Did anyone chill the Moet et Chandon?
  6. Hey Edge, welcome back big guy! We're still here and having fun.
  7. Howdy gents, I got a PM today from someone asking how to upgrade his membership, so I did a little looking around. It's remarkably hard to find the instructions, so I thought I'd post them again here. For your reading pleasure.......
  8. I took an evening off from framing and went out to play in the woods. Supposed to get big winds the next 2-3 days so let's enjoy the Fall colors while they're here.
  9. From another perspective, you could buy a cheap, rattly, tinny, riveted 7206 band from Rolex in the early 70s for under $50. Today that band would sell for $1,000 without blinking an eye. Maybe 3x that. Is that profiteering? No, it's supply and demand. If you know your stuff, the frankenfield is a great playground. Pay what you know the pieces and watches are worth. If something is overpriced, watch it a couple weeks... I bet the price will come down. If you don't know your stuff, then frankens are not for you. Go with stock from our trusted dealers. A good corollary is buying a heavily modified Cobra kit car vs. a GT Mustang off the showroom. If you're good with wrenches, or can afford someone who is, buy the Cobra. Otherwise get the Muskrat and have 90% of the fun with almost no risk and instant gratification.
  10. Hah! Mine is only half as rare, as I've cobbled in a different mid endlink on only one end. Here's a photo I saved that barely/sorta show that bizarre piece.
  11. Hey, gently and lovingly applying that subtle antiquing effect ain't easy. Sure, anyone can scratch up an iphone or even make a little chip around the edge. Anyone can rub the corners to make it look like it's spent a few years in the pocket of some 501 Levis. But to make it look truly cherished .... well that takes a certain je ne sais quois.
  12. My God, is that actually a real Credor? Unbelievable... I thought they were just rumors whispered in the dark back alleys of Shenzhou. To even HOPE of finding one, you gotta "know a guy who knows a guy........"
  13. I have first dibs if you ever decide to sell that magnificent JLC.
  14. FS: iPhone 6 - not pristine, shows signs of light use.
  15. It takes a lot of tweaking but it's possible to get the Yuki bracelets to fit a vintage case quite well. These are all Yuki 7206 bands:
