  1. Happy New Year to the folks who make our watches and to whom we gladly pay a fraction of what these watches cost in an AD.
  2. Thanks Coeuss, that was a very balanced and well written review. You are right that for the price you cannot expect to be blown away, but it does seem like a 'steal' indeed. Good looking watch. I like it more than the big box style B&R is known for. BTW....Rene Magritte has always been one of my most favorite artists, nice avatar.
  3. Because of the clandestine nature of our hobby , I have been reluctant to purchase 'used' replica watches and simply not wanting to deal with the potential hassles, while eliminating watches I am tired of I have either given them away or sold at a much reduced price to a friend. I think it is great however where a fellow collector has taken the time to add mods and improve the watch they are now selling. That can be a good benefit in this game. The shelf life of the watches we collect has yet to be determined, and while we all hope they will last many years, the chance that they might not is real, and so I prefer to purchased from known dealers a watch that is new and pristine. The first rule when buying a used rep is 'caveat empor'. After that there is no one to blame.
  4. Just pulled the pin on the Chronofighter Oversize. They don't look much more unique.
  5. This watch is...one hell of a watch and on my mind more than others. Let us know your opinion. I have seen several gens on clients and the Graham Chronofighter is a major league eye catcher. I have tried on the gen and it is almost in the mail.
  6. This sums it up today.. http://akaijen.vox.com/library/video/6a00c...3dbd0d685e.html
  7. Sure do love Panerai watches. 172 tantalium here.
  8. Since you are in the clutches of customs now, there is a very real chance the watch will be seized. I would say that the watch is a 'prototype' sent to you as a gift for your opinion. Sticky situation for sure. Good luck!
  9. Just picked up a dozen on special at Earls Cockring Warehouse.
  10. Wow! It is so quiet here you could hear a buffalo flatulate from North Dakota to Brisbane..
  11. The standard boxy B&R is an interesting looking watch, however never really pulled me enough to buy it, this 2007 design however, the 44mm BR-02 Diving watch is a good design IMO and might be a candidate.
  12. Must concur on the avatar. Cruise around the dealers on the board here who offer the Navi and you will find the best available.
  13. The first one for me also. The design is clean and eye-catching. The second is too cluttered. Great idea!
  14. The B 52's were great, as much of the early 80's bands that came and went, Romeo Void, who did "Might like you better if we slept together", The Vapors, "I think Im turning Japanese", Talking Heads, Blondie, Ramones, Tears For Fears, Wall of Voo Doo, "I'm on a Mexican radio", Oingo Boingo, The Romantics, The Pretenders, even Haircut 100, "Love plus one". There was some fantastic and creative music in this period which was the birth of the music video and MTV. I watched MTV on it's first broadcast day in my Waikiki condo on August 1st 1980. The next day I hooked my stereo up to my TV and a whole new way of life began. The music is what always takes you back.
  15. The IWC is a fine watch and this rep is quite something. Congrats, let's see some more pics!
  16. Whistling at a woman one of the lowest and most crass forms of expression to an attractive woman, done primarilly in the presence of other like minded blue collar cretins. Any woman who really thinks that this form of expression is acceptable is probably a hooker, or other '[censored]' minded tramp. Not that theres anything wrong with this type, when you are horny, drunk and single.
  17. Rolli, you have certainly amassed one of the finest Panerai rep collections of anyone I have seen. The mods you have done to your watches and the strap collection place you in the super collector league. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
  18. Funny how the Rolex TT sub has was always one of my favorite watches, yet when I got into this hobby, I have yet to purchase one. I will one day just out of principle, yet I'm still waiting for the one that nails it.
  19. Wife snoring, dog farting, music to some perhaps. I was just listening to Pink Floyd, "The Wall", bought the album when it first came out in 1980 and just got the CD to remind me of a different time, my youth. Funny how music and certain aromas can transport you back as effectively as any time machine might. Life is good indeed.
  20. Looks fantastic Joe. Love the PVD/Ceramic on the Radiomir. Enjoy your new watch.
  21. Welcome to the forum Dan. Your philosophy on rep watches is for the most part what it's all about. Have a great time and enjoy this exciting hobby.
  22. bla bla bla..just seeing your name all over the place is spam to me, no need to read it. The ignore function does not eliminate the post altogether.
