Nothing wrong at all with the orange strap for whoever wants to wear it. Not my choice but make a statement, and the statement does not have to be "Yes my buttcheeks are for rent" but it can mean that a person is feeling, well...special that day. Just pick up a can of Nomo Homo spray at Ace Hardware and put a dash on the watch wrist and you are good to go .

There are a good many strap dealers out there. Right now TC Straps is having a terrific Christmas sale on them. in addition to their daily specials, there are photos of Elliot the owner dressed as Santa where the strap should be and the price is almost ridiculously low. These last for only hours and change during the day till Xmas. Greg Stevens makes about some of the finest watch straps you will ever find. Takes at least 4 weeks to get one after ordered but well worth it. About 150.00

Josh, That was a great post. I did get Davidsen's fiddy 3 weeks ago and it has the 117/1950 number on it. He said before I purchased it that this one was more upgraded and it is, the lume is excellent, the cannon pins are correct and the font seems to be better than the photos you posted, but not quite as good as the gen. All in all it is a superb rep and a great watch. Thanks again for your post, and to the question in hand, go with Davidsen's and you will be very pleased.

There is a Chopard dealer around the corner from me and it is they have great looking watches. The divers is an amazing one also.

I was just wondering if anyone else was annoyed with reading tvt's long winded constantly negative drivel? This is not a "fake watch" forum, it is a replica watch forum and the dealers who are here by and large offer quality watches of which I have purchased many and have not had a single mechanical problem. Maybe I'm lucky. This is a terrific hobby that I think most of us love, and I think we can do without all the negative crap.

Buy it, great looking Pam. I was just looking at it tonight and thinking about adding it to the collection.

You are lucky Nanuq. Alaska is a beautiful place, even if it gets a bit nippy at times.

Those videos are pretty cool. I am surprised no one else has commented on them. Thanks for posting them Lucas.

What Was The Watch That First Caught Your Attention?
hambone replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
The Rolex Sea Dweller. -
Thank you TVT for that commentary. Where is it that you get your 'facts' ? I don't dispute them, just wondering. If Panerai sales are down then that is the cycle they are in, however I am more than certain the Panerai brand will be around in the next 50 to 100 years and more, providing civilization as we know it still is. As I said, watchmaking is an art form and in regard to this or any subject, there is nothing that cannot be debated.

Discussions At Rwi - Re Banners And 5 Star Dealers
hambone replied to fotoman's topic in General Discussion
I must say that I have to agree with Phoband. The forum should have the appearance of independence. I do think that both Josh and Andrew fully deserve the 5 star status given them at RWI however it does not feel quite right to have their banners on top as if they were official sponsers. -
Do you remember the scene in Pulp Fiction where Christopher Walkens character is speaking to the young Butch about his Fathers watch? Just kidding, seriously though, if you just pack them in your suitcase like anything else, you will have no problems at all. On return to USA in customs just write 'gift items' on the form and you will be just fine. I have made many trips from the far east and the first few times make you a little concerned about customs, but it is quite a breeze.

["I think the fact that you are seeing more Panerai advertising and so forth is evidence that they are NOT as "hot" as they once were. As my anology tried to point out concerning night clubs, when a company has to start pushing it's product harder then it has lost it's "heat". A Hot product in essence sells itself, people want it and those trendsetters are aware of them. By the time the genral public at large knows about them then they are really no longer hot. " ] The largest and oldest watch companies advertise as if they were McDonalds. That is what keeps name recognition alive and well and in the public conscience. To suggest that a product is not "hot" because of excessive advertising is to miss the fundamental concept of marketing in todays world. Another thing, Panerai watches and other watches of their caliber, Rolex, Breitling, Hublot, Patek Phillipe etc. are not in the same category as clothing. Fine watches are have far more in common with fine works of art. There are artists who have not been around for as long as Panerai watches and their names are secure in history, just as Panerai's name is secure and they will continue to create wearable works of art for as long as the public demands them. Given the tremendous amount of appreciation for the Panerai brand and how infective the collecting bug for them has become worldwide, I am quite sure they will ba around in a big way for many decades to come and more.

Looks great with that strap.

There is a certain mystique and allure when it comes to Panerai watches unlike any other brand on the market and it is growing. Look at all the people posting in Paneristi and other sites not to mention the several rep sites. Panerai is a mid 20th century creation and this generation, as well as future generations are going to continue to embrace the clean asthetics and simple beauty of these superb Italian watches. No, they are going to increase in popularity and in time will be a household name like Rolex. It may take time, but the bottom line is that great quality lasts and there is always a customer for that kind of product.

Because of this new found love of mine, collecting replica's, my wife and I are at odds. She does not understand at all and is not speaking to me. The thing is, I really enjoy this and I do not go out at night, gamble, or engage in any vice, so I am standing my ground. If I so choose, I could buy any number of Gens, but I could never really grasp the concept of spending thousands on a watch. That is what makes collecting these reps so appealing. It's a gas. And I believe I have earned the right to indulge myself as I see fit. Trying to understand the female mind is futile.

There is such a massive amount of mail going through that chances of your package getting flagged are slim, it might be safer to use two different packages but I don't think it makes too much diference. BTW, the girl on your avatar is gyrating in such a way it would seem she is trying to dislodge something from her bottom.

Great looking strap, thats what I love about Pams. The strap makes it a different watch.

Seems that our friend dawn wan has spent much time distinguishing between "A bottle in front of Me, or a frontal lobotomy" His diction and grammer would indicate that that latter choice would preclude the former.
