Some of the dealers have been burned pretty badly by idiots starting a Paypal dispute, usually way before the dealer has a chance to rectify the situation. Can't blame them. Others will still take PayPal, but as was said above, only from buyers they have dealt with in the past. Certainly not a 100% guarantee, but much less likely that someone who has been around a while and bought multiple watches will file a PayPal dispute. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Second what kernow said. We are more than happy to help, and as I posted in your question on the general discussion forum, we have a very well qualified group of AP experts here. However as kernow said, you need to read, research and then make your decision based on known facts. Every rep has faults, some more than others. What you need to determine before you buy is what faults you can live with and which ones are a deal breaker for you. If a date font which is probably not noticeable from 3 feet away will drive you crazy every time you look at your watch, then you need to stay away from that flaw, although I would say, if you are anal to the point that any little deviation from the genuine is going to upset you, then most likely reps are not for you. What most folks want to know when they post QC photos is whether or not the watch in question has problems outside of the known flaws. Things like misaligned bezels, rotated dials, DW not in register, bezel screws not aligned, caseback screws with "boogered up" slots are flaws that are due to manufacturing/assembly errors and are valid reasons for asking for another watch. Better to get it right before shipping as it's always a problem shipping back a watch to a dealer. You wait weeks and you are exposed to customs multiple times as well.

Like Mike said, I would post in the AP forum first, and if you don't get any response (Unfortunately, it's a pretty slow forum) repost here in the general discussion forum. We have a tremendous amount of knowledge represented by members here in the AP forum, but for some reason it's not the most active forum here. we welcome more participation there, as the AP's are certainly popular watches.

That's the problem with all of these phone apps. The microphone just isn't sensitive enough to get a consistent reading. I have tried several of them, and none of them work consistently. Most environments are inherently noisy, and these just won't work if their is any ambient noise at all. I even tried adding a cheap microphone to no avail. I have one watch, a gen Maurice LaCroix with a handwind pocket watch movement, every app will time this watch, because it's a lot louder than my others, but it's one of the only ones that works consistently with the timer apps. Honestly, if you are seriously trying to get accurate accuracy measurements, the only way to go is a Timegrapher. However, unless you have the expertise and the tools to regulate your watches, having any sort of timing device, be it a phone app or Timegrapher, will only serve as a method to satisfy your curiosity. I just went to puretimes website and had a look at the new CHS GMT. Looks pretty nice. I'm wondering if the movement is the same one that yuki sells and has been modified to a GMT? There is no price on the website as of now, so no telling what it will sell for. Since pretty much the same watch is selling for over 400 USD with the ICHS A2836 movement, I wouldn't be surprised to see this one at around 600 USD. I expect the price will be up soon.

You can mod it, wear it and should the movement break, replace it with the yuki 3135. From what I have read, the newer CHS movements are a lot better than the first ones that came out. Another thought to complicate things even further, the yuki 3135, even with all the gen parts, still has some weaknesses. It is not as robust as a gen 3135. The biggest advantages are the ability to accept gen DW and hands. With a gen dial, DW,hands, crystal,bezel, insert and crown, it's A REALLY "believable watch. MQ was who he was referring to. He is notorious for pushing off dials that are less than perfect to unsuspecting noobs. Once he realizes you know what you want and aren't fooled easily, he comes through with an "improved" dial. I looked for three years trying to find one of the older CHS movements . Never found one so I bit the bullet and got misiekped to modify a yuki movement. Considerably more money, but you can use a gen DW, gen hands and everything works just like the genuine 116710. Of course what you can do is build it with the IHS movement and later if you find a CHS 2836 or decide you want the yuki, it's just a movement swap and in the meantime you can enjoy your watch.
