Do you know someone who is reluming dial with Tritium ?
Valty replied to Valty's topic in The Rolex Area
It looks indeed very good !!! I put The Zig on my list I'm curious to know if PBdad can use the same kind of lume mix... -
Hello RWG :-) The question is in the title : Do you know someone who is reluming dial with Tritium ? I'm thinking about buying a DRSD 1665 dial at NDT, but I'm not a big fan of the job done on the markers. I guess the material they are using is not Tritium... Please let me know if you have suggestions about a "vintage relume" for this kind of dial Cheers ! R.

It is better to go to gen bezel for your Daytona. Phong bezel is not very accurate. The only needs you have from Phong is the case & case-back (and maybe pushers, they are not so bad) For a sub case, it's pretty impossible to get a WM9 v1/v2/v3 case. You can choose between Sean or TC (also called WM9 v4) case ! There is some threads talking about the differences seen between the 2.

Just received my RolexAddict-built 1675 (PICS!)

Congrats mate, it is beautiful ! :) Wear it in good health ! -
I never said it's impossible, I guess I have read the case needs a little of work to accept the movement... But maybe I'm wrong, it's just a memory read I suppose any experienced WM can make the movement fit without difficulties

Interesting comments about cloning Rolex movements
Valty replied to automatico's topic in The Rolex Area
The fact is : - You have to read AND understand the forum rules. It is always better to do not do this. You have not seen a gen 1665 in person, so you cannot know if the AD will see (or not) it's the gen deal. - If you want to continue to can make great franken, it's better to keep this hobby for us. Law pursuits can be very fast counter the great persons who are delivering good aftermarket products. But these facts has already been said. I just want to add a personal message about this - If you want to be considered as a good member here, you will be better to : - Do not "sell" the same watch to 3 different guys (me in the lot...) - Answer to the PM's we are sending to you when you are making a sell - Eventually, explain why you do not want to sell to a person, it is better than radio-silence - In few words, be a gentleman, and do not have scammer-type comportment, even if you had done a "hyper-franken" watch I guess you will understand it is not so much appreciated here to have this kind of behavior... At least, I did not appreciate. R. EDIT: sorry for thread-crapping, I wanted to say this is very very interesting information showed here automatico, thank you very much ! -
Be careful, nothing says it will be easy to fit a gen 1570 into a MBW case. I remember some threads, and it seemed not so easy some times... I see more projects with Phong case instead of MBW when we are talking about gen movement I am doing the same project as you, but I will go Phong, the case is better constructed anyway R.

Anyway, it's a bad idea to change parts of your v72 movement. Don't forget : - It can reduce the movement time life, it's a old & fragile - Maybe it will fit your movement, maybe not - Your BPM are wrong anyway with a v72 (vs a 727) - It will never fool anyone. Just look on VRF at the gen bridge, then, look at the Phong bridge (or worse, the DW bridge). No comparison possible To me, it's the same thing than installing a "fake" chinese Rolex movement with engraving, instead of choosing an true ETA one. IMO, the better is to keep your money to more important (and visible) things Maybe buying a v726 instead of a classic v72 for your 6263/5 ? R.

1555/6 caliber is fine with a 16000 case... once the case has been modified to take it. Phong can do the job !

So I've been bit by the Daytona bug (bought beano2004's)...
Valty replied to tabularasa415's topic in The Rolex Area
Mate, Your best option about the bracelet is to go to gen 78350 bracelet. It is not overpriced, and it keeps it value during the time. The Yuki's bracelet is very good (once it has been oiled), but the clasp is wrong, wrong and wrong. The coronet is bad, and mis-placed. At least, you should go to gen clasp About the end links, you can go for 571 end links from DW. They are very good, and guaranteed fitting your case without mods. Also, if you prefer gen and if you don't want to spend $200 into gen 571, you can go for gen 557 end links ($50), if you like the look. Personally, I like it Your DW dial is good considering it's a 7750 dial. I don't know if Yuki is selling dials for 7750 (I don't think so), and even if he is selling it, few threads here proven it's not a good upgrade. The "real" upgrade is gen dial - forget about it, it will not fit a 7750, and it's clearly overpriced. Except the bracelet, you already have gen crown / tube / T21. This is all the mods your Spinmaster's can take. I don't see the interest to invest +1500 EUR to get a gen bezel... :) -
What's the best case/bracelet for a franken TT datejust?
Valty replied to ALDS22's topic in The Rolex Area
I never seen good quality TT / Gold cases (exception made of the TT Submariner by WM9) I think the only option is to go for a gen used case, or cartel case (but gold plating will be thin) -
Very good information here ! Thank you very much
-
Very nice build I. ! Probably the best (and the most expensive ) franken 16610 here !!! R.

Just received pics of my rolexaddict build....

Congrats mate ! -
I personally only buying hands from DW, they are pretty good in general Little tip : just buy 2 sets for 1 watch, there is sometimes problems of bent with the chrono seconds hands, it's better to have replacement just in case
-
Excellent review ! Thank you
-
I think you can add a little more ($50-100) for the gen crown / new tube, $500-600 seems to be the price without mods these days
-
Anyway, we have now the two answers
-
If by "tropical" you wanted to say classic silver / black dial (or non-PN / diamonds / etc), I agree with freddy333 You can add all the pre-6239 versions too (6234, 6236, 6238), also, who have not really a "tropical" dial In SS (the easiest way to make a franken), you have to choose between : 6239, 6240, 6241, 6262, 6263, 6264, 6265 It's funny to see that "tropical" may be understood in two different ways !

Looking for either a Yuki or Gen 24-V50 retainer
Valty replied to denimhead's topic in The Rolex Area
It's so funny to see the watch you are talking about 6 days with it's (now previous) owner has been sold to another member without any message from Basketbob about that. Serious seller ? I don't think so... And about the retainer, you will probably find this item on VRF, just post a WTB ad R. -
I have the solution : http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1329833012/FS+-+16610+COMEX+full+set Ok, sorry, the price is a bit high
-
Why making your ad here ? There is a sales section or PM for that R.
-
Nope, read the reply of the OP
