Low beat movement for 5513 build.... ETA 2840....

They have holes but no clamps. Don t these have different dial feet positions? -
Just finished reading the whole thread. Very usefull information since I am building an early 16610 myself. I have an Early Sean case with gen case back and fully engraved with drilled lugholes incoming (thanks E), gen dial, TC hand set, gen insert, crown, tube an a WM9 bezel/retainer. Was planning to use an ETA 2892 movement and a gen date wheel as overlay. But reading this I might go with a Y3135. But then again seing all the mods that have to be made and the risk the y3135 will not work properly I am still on the fence. What are the experiences on the y3135, reliable or not?

Low beat movement for 5513 build.... ETA 2840....

I have two cases. One HH 5513 and one Cartel 5513. Since the HH case is real crap I probably will use the Cartel case with a lot of reshaping. What is crap about the HH case: Bezel construction, the hole for the tube is to big and a gen or gen style tube will not fit (I wonder how everybody else did fix that). I know a 2846 fits a Cartel case well, I have one in my Tudor build. So, that should be no problem. I also know that a 2846 will have a wrong stem height in the HH case. Another reason not using the HH case. -
Low beat movement for 5513 build.... ETA 2840....
dutchguy2 replied to dutchguy2's topic in The Rolex Area
True, but then again I can buy a new one for cheap. As far as I could find out it has the same dimensions as a 2824 and therefore should fit any case that can hold this movement. My biggest concerns are the positions, height, off the hands over the dial. To low is a no go. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -
I am looking for a low beat movement for my 5513 build. In my search for a good movement I came across the ETA 2840. this is a exclusively for Swatch watches movement. They can me had for little money, arround 20 to 30 Euro from the bay. Mostly still in the Swatch watches. Its is a simplified ETA 2824-2 slower beating, without regulating device and with a cheaper Novodiac shock protection. Some specs: Manufacturer ETA Caliber 2840 Number of jewels 23 Escapement Anchor with pallets Balance Nickel Shock protection(s) Novodiac Balance direction clockwise Hairspring stud moveable Regulator type Hairspring key Features SCD,AUT Functions Hour, minute, second, selfwinding Beats per hour 21600 Size 11 1/2''' Production time 1991 – My question is what do the watchmakers, experts, think of this movement? What are the cannon pin heights? Did anyone ever tried it in a no date build en what are your experiences?

I am building an Omega SMP 300 JB version, not the quartz but the full size automatic. Now, I have gen parts like dial, hand set, crystal and bezel. So I am looking for the best possible case set. Since I will not possible to find a CF case my question is what is the next best thing? Edit, just see that a couple of topics below the same question was asked. But still would like to know if the cheaper Asian movement reps of the SMP accepts gen parts?

Good price to pay for a gen 93150 bracelet plus end pieces?
dutchguy2 replied to dutchguy2's topic in The Rolex Area
Ok, so there is a big price difference! That is exactly why I am asking. Sometimes I see prices off (or over) 1000 USD for a 11 link 93150 with either 580 or 501b EL's. But I bought, a rocked one for a bit less than 300 USD on the bay yesterday. I think I got a bargain but maybe it all depends on the state it is in. Trying to figure out what are acceptable prices for these bracelets in there different states. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -
Well, he is not that quick LOL. No pics from him, I bought it without seeing it. I will post pics when I get the bracelet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Grrr, I knew it, I suck. Hmmm, is it all gen? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Wow, congrats. I am no expert but I think I recognise a Yuki clasp. But the finish of everything is second to none. Great work! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I will buy a drilling machine and do it myself. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Most likely a gen does not fit this rep. Maybe you can take the bezel off and make a picture to post here so we can see if the assembly is gen style. And we would like to see the result of your modding ;-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Hahaha, good point. Still, I don't find it that bad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Thank you. Ik know about the rehaut depth. I am not building a 16800 though but an early 16610 with tritium dial, insert and drilled lug holes. Will try RA, maybe he offers this service. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
