  1. Pretty convincing! After my 2 other reps have come back from a trip to Canada I
  2. In a creative mood and feeling all black today
  3. Very nice! But I wonder how it looks like on an all black strap
  4. Thnx for the nice writeup and pics! This beauty is growing on me...
  5. We want pics, we want pics, we want pics, we want....
  6. In the Dutch language (= Netherlands) it's 'Horloge' for a wristwatch and 'Klok' for a clock. Some people will call a high end wristwatch also 'Klok', but to me it sounds a bit silly. A better word for a high end watch is 'Uurwerk', which literally means 'hour work' and is similar to the word timepiece. 'Horloge' is destined from the French language which is destined from the Latin word 'Hora' for hour. 'Klok' sounds similar to the English 'Clock'.
  7. Cousins UK is where you need to be. Unfortunately their site has been changed and all the old archive links to the right parts won't work anymore. But if you look for Valjoux 7750 parts you'll find them. Datewheel: VAL775025571WB3 Daywheel: VAL775025611WB3 Each around GBP 3,- Good luck!
  8. Looks great! Which PAM-model is it? It looks like a 111 with different hands, though.... Me likes
  9. But if you want to make a fair comparison you need to compare it with a serviced & regulated rep. All non-serviced movements out of the box - either Swiss or Asian - will always be a gamble. However, after modding and decent oiling most high level/'super'/'ultimate' reps (with AR, sapphire crystal, Superlume, Swiss movement - or perhaps even some Asian - and handpicked by the collector for extra QC) will certainly stand the comparison to a mid range - or even better - gen watch. Just my 2 cents...
  10. Congrats, very nice! One of these days I'm expecting the same rep from PT as well. Can't hardly wait! What is that awesome strap??
  11. Jawo, thnx! Let's not forget that this beautiful forum was meant for this kind of information in the first place.
  12. Most bang for the buck: The Watch Boys. Perfect fit and finish for around $125,-. Looks very similar to OEM straps for less money. http://stores.ebay.com/The-Watch-Boys-Stor...8QQftidZ2QQtZkm A less expensive alternative around $ 35,- would be BOB: http://www.waccex.de/catalog/index.php?language=en. The straps look great, but some people find them a bit 'plastic feeling'. I own several straps from both strap makers. In fact the strap on my pics in the other threads is the BOB caramel calf. Did you order a Swiss or Asian movement? If it's the Asian you need to check if the end of the Swanneck is not pushed over the dagger arm, which I had. It didn't affect the time keeping so far, but it's an easy fix.
  13. I don't think I can handle this anymore... It's too much, it's.. O well, way out of my league.. Hahaha
  14. FRIDAY Lorenz Theatro Chrono SATURDAY PAM111E @Vic: Both the LV & Gucci look great on you!
  15. Ms. V, you're gonna be shocked... I know you're not really into it, but this is a caramel calf BOB-strap The look & feel of the strap is quiet good, although it's very easy to scratch the leather with the buckle. But for the money...
  16. Thursday PAM111E This is my just arrived 'ultimate' PAM111E from Angus. So far I'm pretty impressed
  17. Also the dial of the mineral version is more accurate with the small markers between the minutes, which the sapphire version lacks. However, both versions have the incorrect serif font on the '1' of the 30-minutes counter. All in all the mineral version seems a better choice.
  18. Great gesture! So as other members already said, I wouldn't buy him a watch he possibly cannot afford. I would stick with a more affordable watch like a Tag Heuer Link/Carrera/Aquaracer, Omega SMP/Aqua Terra or Breitling Stealfish. Most dressy of these are the Aqua Terra on strap (as in jdavis post) or Link Chrono. Good luck! @jdavis: excellent choice!
  19. Thnx The Zigmeister for putting time, knowledge and effort in this great review! In the end what's important here, is price vs performance, reliabillity and maintainabillity. And off course how this movement will be advertised. Only time will learn....
  20. Thnx for the link! Looks very useful and in English....
  21. After doing some research I'm lost in all the models & flaws of the PAM Submersibles. I've narrowed my search down to 2 models: - PAM024B (don't like the polished A version). The 21j-version looks pretty accurate to my untrained eye (the 7750 seems to be missing the bezel markers) - PAM0199. The improved version seems promissing: double sided AR (!) and improved cyclops and datefont. However, I'm not sure if I like the waffle dial. Pics are from Josh. Any advice & insight appreciated
