  1. Seems there is a small flaw after all. The white subrings touch the 6 & 12 minute marker on the rep. On the gen there is a small gap. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=33063
  2. The white subrings touch the 6&12 minute markers on the rep. On the gen there is a very small black gap between the subrings and the markers. Minor detail - didn't notice it at first. Seems like the 'L Swiss L' flaw on the PAM111h.
  3. Let me try tro illustrate my findings with a couple of pics.
  4. Sometimes you need to be persistent to seperate facts from speculations... I can only tell for the grey version, since I own the grey rep and did a couple of comparisons at different AD's under different lighting situations. I'm curious to what you find out about the blue version. What you need to look for is the outer ring of the dial. On the gen it seems to have a slightly different blue color (or maybe it's made of different material) than the inner part of the dial. Hopefully, you find out that the blue version is correct....
  5. Search button only gives me info on the popular blue and grey versions with the polished bezel...... The dial font on the black brushed bezel version used to be terribly off. Don
  6. My gen Oris Big Crown for the weekend.
  7. I would guess a PAM 212 1950 Flyback...
  8. 5 months ago I put a tiny bit of ball bearing grease on the A7750 rotor. The annoying noise was immediately gone. Only a nice 'purring' sound when I hold my wrist to my ear. Just opened the caseback and as far as I can see it hasn't leaked into the other parts (it onlt melts above 110 dgrs Celcius) , neither is the rotor slowed down. Watch keeps perfect time so far. HOWEVER, when you ask The Zigmeister he'll tell you NOT to do this. So I'll have to see what this means for my watch in the long term...... I also have a gen Oris watch with Valjoux 7750. It does make some hearable noise, but a pleasant one and not even close to the grinding sound as some A7750 have.
  9. It depends on your style, but 'representable' to me means no SS bracelet. In situations like that I would go for a PAM111 or 183. Maybe the BCE or IWC Pilot/Spitfire on croq. edit: but for the look of a video store clerk I would go for a nice gen quartz Seiko or Tissot. All the reps we have on this forum look all a bit expensive..
  10. Thnx, TimeShare! Didn't know it was that easy...... Too bad the black croq didn't look that good. SS looks way better.
  11. Does anyone know how to remove the bracelet from the Carrera SS? I'm planning to put a black croc strap on it.
  12. My very first automatic gen....

  15. Looks like a chronometer, not a chronograph. The subdials are for days of the month and 12/24 hours.
  16. Watch box filled! From left to right: Omega SMP with gen dial/hands Tag Heuer Link Chrono Tag Heuer Carrera SS PAM 111h Oris Big Crown Telemeter (gen) Lorenz Theatro Chronograph (gen)
  17. Here's what I did to a regular SMP. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...1527&hl=smp To prevent scratches or damaging the movement be sure to use the right tools: - caseback remover - hand removal tool - precision screwdrivers - hand press tool - plastic tweezers for holding the hands These can all be bought at either ofrei (US) or cousins (EU) and don't cost that much. This is also interesting to read http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=24754&hl= Altough a different movement, the method will be the same. Also check out the post about removing an 2836 from a rolex. Should be somewhere in the technical forum. I think it was written by either Edge or The Zigmeister. Especially make sure to use the right size screwdriver for removing the stem to prevent messing up the keyless work.
  18. So this is basically the same as the Navitimer 'sunken date' problem? Thnx for al the info! I think I have to settle for the rep as it is, which is still a very nice watch by itself...
  19. Thnx! Sounds interesting to me, since my last project is finished. Where do you source the right hands and mag? Which dial that fits the 7750 hast the right date font? What do you mean with
