No matter what your intentions, its not a very bright idea to post reps on a gen forum. Our hobby is still very much underground (at least our high end reps). If you read the posts in that section you will find that they are still fairly ignorant to high end reps. By making them more aware, you are also making the distributors and manufacturers more aware. The swiss manufacturers tolerate our hobby for the most part, because the majority of reps are crap. As the become aware of the quality of high end reps the become more proactive about doing something about it. This very forum was attacked after another idiot member posted his Hublot rep in a gen watch forum!

So I assume that without removing the back, it would be near impossible to identify this one as a rep. Aside from the non unique serial # that is.

You guys are insane! These are are some really sweet modded reps, expensive, but really sweeeeet!

Really don't care. To each his own . I just think Grahams are built with a sense of purpose, everything is where it is because it logically belongs there. Hublots are built to look industrial. There is no reason for anything they have done with that watch, its simply a fashion statement, with a 7750 based movement. There is simply no comparison between it and a fine watch like a Graham.

I love Grahams and always have. If you are talking of abortions, you might want to look at one of the most popular watches on the boards these days, the Hublot Big Bang.

Just make sure to tape the insert before you do!

stick a small screwdriver in the slot of the diver extension and gently pry it apart. You will find that this will quickly stiffen it up.

Firstly, it is very easy to remove the bezel and insert, and then the pearl can be removed by gently using a small screwdriver and a little leverage from the edge of the bezel. The pearl is simply glued to the bezel, and it comes off easily. The second part of the equation is not so easy. The ebay bezel that you posted does not look any better than the one on our reps. The pearl still sits too low, and it is not shown clearly enough to determine the quality of the pearl itself. I'll warn you that these aftermarket bezels can also be slightly smaller than the rep one, leaving a slight gap at the edge of the bezel. As far as I can tell, the gen has a similar set up to the rep, where the pearl protrudes through the insert and not simply sitting on top of it. I have done several mods to the pearls on my UPOs. The have been removed and re-glued so they sit straight in the insert hole. I then used a fine grained sandpaper to grind down the glass, as it was sitting unevenly in the pearl cup. The glass and silver ring were then polished with a dremel. The pearl is still low in the triangle, but other than that it looks good!

I've had my PO right next to the gen, and I have not noticed a difference in rehaut depth. My guess is that in the picture you posted, the depth is being distorted by the crystal.

Pugs is right. With the montbrilliant it's a space issue. I just cant see them squeezing the modified 7750 (seconds at 3) into a 38mm case, and still having room for the slide rule markings and bezel insert. The 2894 obviously has a more compact subdial arrangement.

Last one of the weekend for me...

Firstly, the sunken date wheel won't be fixed, its the movement that is the problem. Decent AR & Lume, proper date font and font rotation, and a better caseback are about all we can hope for.
