Yep, that's what we are here for. These days I'd never buy a rep without doing my research here first.

Well, the Navi is now at my watchsmith (he was wearing a Panerai today) and the problem seems to be a broken setting lever. Pain in the butt to replace, but should be ready to go in a few days for about $65.

What usually happens in contests like this is that the basic elements of a design are set by an early entry, then for the most part, everybody provides variations of the same elements. As I started looking at the designs last night, I began to realize that possibly too much emphasis was being put on the category via the use of camera imagery. Lani was pretty clear that he wanted this banner to be a Trophy, so for this design I have switched the emphasis more in that direction. I've also tried to keep the size to a minimum, as I thought that for the most part these banners may look a bit overpowering over the long term. I've also used the forum colors to help keep the banner from jumping off the page. Also, on this one i've decided to completely ignore the 1st, 2nd, 3rd designation, as that will be evident by the color of the trophy. Anybody who followed the actual contest will know that it was very close, and that all the contestant are winners. I think gold, silver and bronze says it all! Still a work in progress, but thought I'd get some feedback...

Here is my submission. I thought that an obvious color scheme should be gold, silver and bronze to denote the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The categories are are easily identified by the camera icons. I wanted to give this thing a simple but elegant look that would be eye catching but not overpowering. Hope you like what I've come up with!

Yeah, that is an idea, but I could also buy a new one and transplant the 28k movement and better dial in to this case with the correct slide rule.

LOL, none of my watches have deskdiving marks Toad, I'm pretty vigilant with the polishing tools. You are right about getting a new one, but this has a lot of sentimental value. Hoping it's a worn stem or something simple. Zig?

After about 5 years of faithful service, the 7750 in my navitimer has developed an issue. The quick set date has stopped functioning. The watch functions normally and the date changes at midnight. I know that not having a quik set function in a 7753 navi rep actually makes it more accurate, but I'd like to have it back. Any ideas?

It's a nice car, but why isn't Porsche concentrating on sports cars? Seem their newest releases have been 4wds, Suvs, now luxury 4drs. I'm a 911 or 914 kind of guy, so this one doesn't thrill me.

Looks nice, may well be my next purchase! My only problem with it is that the rep makers have never been very good at doing blue hands. The blue always tends to flake off with time.

I never call out or even attempt to call out anybody. People have proudly shown me the worst reps one can imagine, and my response is always the same.... a simple "nice watch".

Make sure that you are looking at the V2, not the V1. You will be able to spot it quite easily by the more accurate pearl. Beyond that, all dealers have the same thing. Make your decision based on price, service, or the dealers location, whichever is most important to you.

Good on you for calling the guy out on his watch knowledge. The PO that you have is very far from perfect, so if he couldn't spot one "tell" on it, he has no business making such accusations.
