Yeah, thats why I've stopped examining my watches with a loupe! Stuff that you would never see suddenly becomes your focal point. Look at how the hands have marked the dial, the piece of lint stuck to the hand stack, and the fiber under the pearl crystal. These reps are usually best viewed with the naked eye. At arms length I'm sure this one looks beautiful as well, congrats and wear it well!
Actually its impossible to do anything about the datewheel as the transfer gears sit on top of it.
But if they made a decent 6-9-12 I'd be all over it!
Looks awesome! I'm interested in the process, did you brush the bracelet prior to the DLC or just use a stock polished one? Also, was the bracelet completely disassembled? How did the coating adhere to all the spaces between the movable links?
Wow! all that effort to create a new movement, but they couldn't put the proper logo on the dial or put the pearl in the proper place!
I will eat my share of crow though, I never thought they would ever fix the subdial spacing. How far can we be from a perfect Moonwatch?
Best bet would be to simply remove the crystal, then strip off the AR. If it is rep AR it will come off quite easily. If you don't want to be bothered with removing the crystal, simply remove the outer AR. I've done it using metal polish and a little bit of elbow grease. Takes about 10 minutes. The inner AR is virtually undetectable anyway.
I first saw them in August of 77. A Farewell to Kings was released the next week, but in Toronto we got to hear all the new tunes a week early. Awesome show!
Actually, getting back to the movie, Rush is actually in it. They apparently perform Limelight in a concert setting. They took a day off on there recent tour and played the song something like 40 times in front of the cameras.
Prices are falling all over the place. I was stunned yesterday to find the V2 Skyland Blacksteel at $280, but todays deal is even more amazing...
