  1. Great pics and a beautiful watch! Congrats!
  2. Great pics! Its nice to see the SFSO in it natural element. I think too many members baby their reps with respect to water. I always have a watch on when I take a dip
  3. My SMP chrono is clear from any angle. Bottle effect is a result of the thickness and shape of the crystal. Thick crystals can be clear when the inside of the glass is curved properly.
  4. Not a fan either. Tried the gen black smp chrono the other day and really didn't like the dial without waves. Although, putting waves on anything but blue doesn't make much sense either
  5. Firstly, its an Asian 2836 copy, not ETA. Secondly, if you own an UPO, you will immediately recognize the inferior quality of the Silix model when it arrives. Most notably the cheap, sloppy, 90 click bezel. Also, the crown is completely wrong and the He valve is in the wrong place. The lume on the Silix is weak, the pearl is poor, and the 3,6, 9 and 12 on the dial lack serifs. The date font is wrong, and the date wheel is glossy, not matte as it should be. Other than that its pretty accurate Here's mine...
  6. That seems to be the insinuation, but neither party seems very keen on speaking fact
  7. BTW, when Puretime posted this at RG as an UPO Lite, I questioned him on it. He apologized for being misleading and promised to correct his mistake. I guess that didn't apply to his own site
  8. This is NOT the UPO LIte. I had one of these in for repair from a friend last week. The plastic movement spacer isn't snug, and the pressure from screwing in the crown broke one of the dial feet and resulted in everything moving around freely. Just a badly assembled watch. The crystal is cheap (the one I had was scratched in several places), the He valve is positioned incorrectly, the crown is wrongly shaped, the bezel is loose with only 90 clicks (not 120), no serial number, bad pearl, no anti-magnetic cover, no steel movement holder, short hands, and probably a few other things I didn't notice.
  9. Probably too soon to see any reps from the 2008 show, but we should see some really cool new reps in the next few weeks. The new Breitling Heritage was released today and it looks great!
  10. Hats off to J&A for not trying to pass this off as Swiss ETA. From the reactions I've seen, nobody has a problem with this movement, and at a decent price I'm sure this will be a popular choice. Thumbs up guys!
  11. It is actually a low end rep of the Breitling for Bentley 6.75. Here's the gen... Your rep is fairly cheap (less than $100) and uses a cheap asian movement with date module. There is a good 7750 based version of this watch available from our dealers for under $300
  12. Not sure if the Seagull is any better or worse than the 7750, but it does come clean and properly oiled. This fact alone would account for the better reliability record.
  13. Comparing it to a pic of the gen I couldn't find any obvious flaws. The only thing I could see is that the smaller hour markers may be ever so slightly too wide, but that may just be the lighting. Looks like this one is bang on out of the box! Now if they could get the proper mesh bracelet or rubber strap to go with it
  14. Yes, looks like a nicely decorated 2824 or 2836. Looks very nice indeed!
  15. Sounds like there are issues with the 187 that you weren't open about? That aside, I don't understand why the 187 and the 7750 weren't shipped at the same time? Really not getting a good feeling from either member here
  16. My only issue is getting the second hand and subdial hands on. Very difficult to get the pins in the tube!
  17. I don't think anyone knows for sure. I think he's sorting himself out, and I'm not certain he will ever return at the level he was. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
  18. Dealers bought a gen to make this one. Don't think they'll be needing yours
  19. Soon, you'll have to wait a little longer for the black steel version though!
  20. Very aggressive move on Apple's part. Great product, and now a great price to go with it.
  21. Agree with Tak, SMP chrono rep is almost perfect out of the box. PO Chrono is a much more beautiful watch IMO.
  22. You will have no problems at all getting the watch in to Canada. I'm in Toronto and never had an issue, and in all my years on the boards have never heard of a problem with Canadian customs.
  23. In your original post you stated that the watch was sent from the NL to the USA for repair. I don't understand why the letter states that the watch went to Bahrain?
