  1. Ooze as in dials chipping away and braceletts breaking apart at the soldered spots? Great pics though.
  2. They bought a couple of these Miyota quartz powered watches and had a company print patek on the dial. They sell for around 15 Euros..
  3. There are so many flaws that can't be fixed.. imho leave it as it is and wear it like that or sell it and buy a used gen. Or maybe if you are lucky you can get one of the older Speedy reps, who had better cases with the right cut outs for the crown etc. (but still many flaws). I doubt anything that you will get will fit this rep without heavy modding...
  4. Not a Nato or Bund strap but I like the Di-Modell Rallye strap. It's great on a Speedmaster. You can fit it with an original Omega buckle while using the two tongues from the Di-Modell buckle. You can get it for around 25 Euros and it's water resistant to 100 meters.
  5. Not having a ticking sound like gunshots is going to be a tell.. Have been on the hunt for a nice gen 17000 or 17014 myself. Love the Oysterquartz.
  6. They don't have any movements left for replacement. So usually people who try to have work done on those get offered the Aerospace for a discounted price. At least that's what I have read on german forums from people who tried to get any of the old ana/digis serviced.
  7. Wow, that's beautiful Ubi.. Sell it to me!
  8. Beware: (afaik) No service done on those by Breitling. If it needs a repair you probably will be offered a new Aerospace with a slightly bigger discount than you would get from the AD.
  9. Mate.. you said the rep Flat Six uses the same movement as the gen Breitling. It does not. Case closed. If you say the differences are irrelevant to you, fine. (Although I admit, I thought the rep Flat Six uses the G10... )
  10. The rep Breitling and the rep Flat Six DON'T use the same movement as the gen at all. The movement just has the same subdial layout but different functions on the subdials. The left subdial on the gen counts 12 hours for the chrono and counts the chrono minutes from the center. So there are two chrono hands in the center. Not only would the gen 12 hour hour, 1/10th seconds ETA chrono be a much better movement than the 30 minutes, 1/10th ETA chronos they use in the reps, but the movements used by Breitling do have modded/exchanged controllers and have thermocompensation so they pass the Superquartz test, similar to the chronometer test.. That said, It would be possible to make 1:1 reps of the Breitling Aerospace and the analog chronos like the Seawolf chrono or the chrono avenger M1, etc by using the stock unmodded ana digi/ 12 hours ETA chronos. Probably not going to be as accurate as the Breitling SQ movements but I guess it wont matter much to the most if the movement loses 5 seconds or 10 seconds a year.
  11. You will have to get the bezel lumed anyway so whats the point?
  12. Apparently the most difficult thing to manufacture on AP reps are the screw slots.. Hopefully it's just the lighting..
  13. The gen has AR applied to the crystal under the cyclops. No AR anywhere else. (You can AR the crystal, glue the cyclops on and then strip the AR again.)
  14. Didn't like the 42mm, don't like the 44mm. If they didn't have the Breitling logo on the dial those watches could be any brand..
  15. Great! I hope it's going to be good. I'd buy the bracelet, brush it and put it on my gen.

Nice pictorial! Thanks for the copy and paste..
  17. CHS means the hands are stacked the correct way. hour hand on bottom, gmt hand above it. On the WHS the gmt hand is on the bottom and the hour hand above it.

Not everyone has or wants an account on RWI. I suggest you just copy and paste your post here.
  19. (serviced) ETA 2836 WHS will be the most reliable. Instead of using the day-complication they just hooked a GMT hand on it, so they didn't really have to improvise a whole lot. The movement just does what it would be doing anyway. Whatever movement with CHS will be visually accurate but more unreliable. A bunch of gears held together by a paperclip and whatnot. That said, I think By-Tor has several CHS movements that survived very long but he said he doesn't touch the GMT hand at all... His gmtiic review is a nice read although the model that the dealers carry has changed a bit.
  20. Title says it all. Does any member have any info whether or not the new Heritage in 42mm will be repped? Didn't find anything about the new version via the search..
