  1. No mate, I just got it today and didn't feel like taking the CG off the removing the stem right away. But I guess I will do now.. BRB edit: Man, I'm a total noob... I should listen better to you pros. Didn't look like it with a flashlight and magnifying glasses but theres indeed a "gasket" in the crown.. Doesn't look like the one on the picture of PeteM though. It's a rubber disk that fills the complete recessed area without a gap inside or outside. That's why I could make anything out inside the crown without taking it off. Sorry for wasting your time guys but the offered help is much appreciated.
  2. Well when I pull the crown all out I should be able to see the gasket inside the recessed area of the crown, no? But it's just bare metal. Would be awesome if you could calliper the gasket(s), so I know what to order. Doesn't need to be right now, but when you have a spare minute in the next days.. As for modding it: Nope, I want it to stay a 005K. So if it just fits the way it's supposed to be like on yours I'm fine. Crown/case spacing is not an issue for me, so standard gasket will do, I guess. Thanks in advance! :drinks:
  3. Thanks PeteM. Seeing your pictures, definitely no gasket in mine.. Do you know the dimensions of it? Are those two gaskets in the crown? Looks like it on the last picture. @mrboombasteke I had it ordered on 19.2. and it was shipped right away.. It just arrived today with a massive delay. But I read somewhere that the dealers will get the new stock on 15.3..
  4. Thanks for the info! Do you happen to have the exact dimensions for a gasket that will fit? I guess I will order one from cousins or something. If thats the "QC" and "waterproofing" from Joshua..
  5. Hey folks. Got my 005 today and I am pretty pleased overall. However there seems to be no gasket at all inside the crown or the tube as far as i can see. Is this correct for those new models with the new crowns and hexa-tubes? The older modded reps I had, had always gaskets at the base of the stem inside the crown.. Also the lever closes super tight and hard, so I'm not sure if a gasket would even fit there. I saw some pictures of springloaded crowns that had the gaskets along the winding stem, but I doubt the H-factory reps have that. Didn't take it apart however and didnt find anything regarding that gasket for the 005. On this picture from HeadToucha it seems like theres agasket inside, however not the round ones like on the old reps but a flat ring? Can someone please educate me?
  6. Hendrix was holding his guitar the other way around, wasn't he? So him being your avatar you shouldn't even have to ask...
  7. Breitling has about a gazillion quartz models and even some of the best (affordable high-end) quartz movements too. (ETA with modded controllers, thermocompensation, etc.) There are even quartz navitimers. For a company that puts so much effort in telling everybody that they sell "tools for professionals" quartz makes perfect sense too.. And don't tell people the A7750 is one of the best movements available, cause it's not. @urbanshogun While there are some supernice gen quartzmodels there are no good reps of them. They could get the gen (unmodded) ETA movements (like they did with the Porsche 6 and Tag Heuer Formula 1) and make some awesome reps, but I guess there are too many people out there that will take a dirty A7750 over an ETA 1/10th second chronograph every day..
  8. Also if this is the case of a Colt GMT it's not 42 mm.. At least if the rep was accurate.
  9. Who would read it? No one has time for this crap! Just tell me where to get the best sub Avenger! Amazing how someone who has no time and no interest can come here several times over a period of a couple of weeks and post long explanations how this someone has no time for reading the dealers reviews instead of just sitting down for 2 hours ONCE and read all one needs to know.. If you want the watch to still tell the date and time in 6 months: get involved with technical aspects! It should be fair to respect for you that people don't eagerly wait to read another "Hey there folks, listen, I've got no time cause I'm busy making money while you guys hang on a forum. My watch is 60 minutes slow a day, which is cool cause i have one more hour to be superbusy in everyday, but it doesn't show the correct time.. Soo what do I do now? NERDS!" (only in 300 words) which is why they suggest to get involved too.. Or just follow the advice of subbiesrock and buy a quartz from a store nearby. Try: By the way: welcome!
  10. Why should that be impossible? Poljot 3133 has the same layout and is mechanical..
  11. So where would I find a high beat Seagull with the standard layout bridges? Preferably EU? There aren't any on the Bay or on the cousins.co.uk page..
  12. I doubt you will get a new gen swiss 6497 for this price with decoration.
  13. Wow. Well, let's see if the changes will be an improvement..
  14. Why should they change anything? They wont change a bit. They have to individually engrave/etch/laser/whatever the casebacks anyway, so they just change one letter when programming the machine.. (Which is probably good, because if they go ahead and change something else, the chance that it will be for the worse is much bigger, than that they will improve anything.. judging by the past of rep makers.. )
  15. LOL Don't people realize they can scroll down the page and flip pages?
  16. Stop torturing me with 005 pictures! Mine arrived in the UK on the weekend but the forwarder is obviously too busy to even pick it up from the post office..
  17. Why do we need another thread for this? Theres a three or four page thread already with all the discussion needed and pictures..
  18. Dial: Swiss Made is much too high and close to the 6, font and colour is off, dial probably too shiny, looks like normal and not high CP. Movement: missing swan neck, OP letters are stickers that will fall off and get stuck in the movement, wheels dont have sunburst, etc.. (the movement is always a tell but you can at least try to stay away from stickers that might cause technical problems..) Crown, crownguard: can't say too much about the CG but it won't have the rubbergasket on the lever and there are better crowns I think. Caseback: famous H0035 serial.. For 180 Euros I would definitely get the 111J instead. It wont be perfect but it will be a lot better and not have those "problems", imho. Or maybe the 005 from the H-factory.
  19. The H-factory crown is thinner than the gen. It just looks thicker because it doesn't have the same bevel as the gen. While the H-factory case does look better, it's case construction is inferior towards the noob case and not the same as gen, thus making it probably more prone to water damages. Since the parts are only friction fitted, assembling and disassembling several times might shave just enough of the material off to cause problems.. check the various threads regarding this topic..
