  1. you will enjoy both watches, especially the Carrera. First rep I bought and it's still one of my favourite watches, just love it
  2. Pearl on the Planet ocean looks awful, off centre and extra low. Also, Happyfeet logo is present on the dial, this is the wrong logo for this model of Omega. Watches with an applied logo (vs. printed) should have slightly different logo. should be able to see the difference in this picture, look at the feet on the Omega logo. Carrera is a decent example of the Day Date model, there are some crooked numerals (see the 05, 50, and 35 specifically) on the dial but this is standard for these models. Standard bad Tag logo too, you won't get a good one on a rep. All in all, I say go on the Tag, but I would look for a Planet Ocean with the good logo, they're easy to find.
  3. Q - how much Stainless Steel do you need on your wrist A - All of it
  4. I could very well be in, personal availability depending.
  5. Haven't posted in a little while, DSSD is back with the spring weather.
  6. Ceramic sub for me, enjoying this Easter Sunday with a 12hour shift
  7. Thanks Marti, pretty glad to get it back on the road. I've been missing it all winter.
  8. Ceramic sub - missing pearl for today. Beautiful sunny day, and I just put this back on the road
  9. Correct Legend, not a clue, to be fair, the 111 V3 is a pretty good rep out of the box.
  10. This would depend entirely on the foot position, as mentioned above, if this is different you could end up with all of the markers misaligned, too close or too far from the edge of the dial. It would be less work to source a rep 16610 dial and just do a swap.
  11. I think you'll want to remove the hour markers from the back of the dial, they should be attached with a pin in a hole. this should keep you from scratching the dial. If you replace them with markers of a different size or shape there may be marks left on the dial from the old markers. for the record, I have not done this, I'm sure someone will give you better advice than I can.
  12. This would have to be a very very bad rep to be called out by a local jewler that is not an AD. If they sell Citizen/Bulova/ESQ/Seiko then they are likely to have never encountered a gen Submariner or have any clue when it comes to identifying a replica. If you're that concerned about damaging the watch, just take it to the jeweler, they'll be glad to take your money. They're right, get a set of precision screwdrivers, not expensive and will really come in handy. (a set of basic jeweler screwdrivers from the hardware store will even do the trick for this task, the smallest size should fit the sub bracelet link pins). Rolex Oyster bracelets, or any with screwed link pins are very easy to change yourself, much easier than any pin and collar or compression pin system.
  13. My Vote goes for the AP diver, great looking piece.
  14. I have to rescind my earlier post... to some extent. My 111 just got spotted by the Shift Manager wearing a No Date Sub. handed it over to him and after he inspected it (no callout) I admitted that it was a rep. a little chat about where I get a rep like that. This guy was a true watch guy, genuinely interested in the watch and not what it was worth (or not worth for that matter) I find you run into both. Just thought I would share as it was litterally the first interaction I had after my last post
  15. Most? I guess that could mean almost entirely every person on the face of the planet. I know almost no one that cares at all about watches nor does anyone ever notice what I'm wearing. I'm currently at work, in coveralls as a controls maintainer, wearing a Panerai, the other day, same get up, DeepSea Sea Dweller strapped to my wrist! No one knows what these watches are, or cares These are not watches that I can't pull off outside of work, but in coveralls as a maintenance worker, they still don't raise an eyebrow.
  16. I think I'll join you, sticking with the Panerai.
  17. Great choice for your first rep, I always expect to see these more often than I do. Might add this to the list soon.
  18. Not quite as small, still a cool use for these tiny movements. Given the popularity of larger and larger watches, these tiny movements probably don't see much production anymore.
