  1. Used to it maybe, Accepting of it... not this fan. We'll be back next season.
  2. Game 7 against Toronto had a great ending... as I recall, I litterally (figuratively) felt my heart break that night! #LeafsNation
  3. I love the transocean and that is a great looking rep but until it functions the same as the Gen I just can't pull the trigger on one. Absolutely love the look though, it's very accurate in that respect. There are two kinds of guys wearing a gen Breitling out there... The guy that would be totally interested in your Rep transocean because he just loves watches and would shoot the poop with you for hours, even when he has important work to do. Then there's the guy that would turn his nose up at your rep and proudly announce that his was a (insert gen MSRP + 20% fantasy showoff mark up here) dollar watch. I come accross both kinds at work, I much preffer the former. If he is just into watches then you two will love working together.
  4. Still no change, Ceramic Planet Ocean. These are absolutely stunning in person, the photos do not do it justice.
  5. I have never posted QC pics before, the flaws I am looking for are physical damage or obvious imperfections. I just ok'd a Planet Ocean with crooked 12 o'clock marker after requesting a new watch because of a scratch on the bezel, pick your battles and decide what you can live with in your replicas. The real flaws are with functionality and those don't come through in pics. I'm thinking about starting to request QC videos
  6. Hell yea I'm interested, I'm about to drop 5K on a gen but will still buy a super rep if they make it. Go ahead and add me to the list.
  7. Just arrived, this baby is a keeper Group shot
  8. DSSD for me today, my new PO should be arriving any minute now, I'll have to snap some pics for tomorrows wristies.
  9. Yay, another new member and potential supporter run off because you people can't answer a simple question. He didn't ask who makes the best sub, he asked if that watch was available stateside, to avoid customs and shipping issues! Answers like BK and TC are stateside but only deal in Rollies are appropriate, pretty much every other response was just an excuse for this forum to make itself look bad. Learn how to read and get the hell over yourselves.
  10. Still wearing my DSSD, waiting patiently for my new Planet Ocean to arrive
  11. Love my 1887, might be a little smallish but I think I can still pull it off.
  12. I don't have winders, my watches often sit for months until I tag them in for a couple weeks of rotation. sometimes I will just put the watch on and start wearing it, after a coupe of hours I will set the watch and it will just wind itself with daily wear.
  13. I could use a new dial, actually I could use some of those dial stickies for when the feet are broken off, my dial is still okay. I think the hands fit but I have never done the swap so I don't know for sure, best left the the expert modders, I'm somewhat of a rookie.
  14. I guess he thinks that the Deep Sea Sea Dweller is worth it's $11,000 MSRP and at that price is a much better value than my $400 rep. I know my rep is only worth $150, if that, but I also know that the Rolex is only worth about $1000 and the mark up is much higher than that of the rep. 2-300% mark up vs. 1100% mark up, I know where my money is going. I guess he doesn't appreciate all the work that the people who actually know reps (this forum) are doing to keep fakes off of ebay and protect people from mistakenly purchasing a rep for 5 or 10k, if it wasn't for replica collectors and enthusiasts, who would be pulling those fakes from the bay? certainly not Ariel Adams who would have a hard time spotting a Canal St. rep.
  15. Not an issue that I was trying to raise, more of a musing on the unique process involved in our relationship with the dealers. This current experience is pretty much par for the course.
  16. Without naming a specific TD, since they are all like this. I wonder if it should be made more clear that the term 'Trusted Dealer' is somewhat a misnomer, maybe they should be reffered to as 'Dealers who are held to some form of account with regard to their actions when dealing with forum members'... or something with a little more ring to it. recently recieved QC pics that contained a mark on the bezel of an Omega Planet Ocean, I asked if this was a scratch or something that could just be removed and was greeted with a prompt reply to the effect that it was only surface dirt. Having been down this road before I made the simple request for a picture that illustrates the removal of the flaw (it really looked like a scratch). quite some time has now passed (longer than it took to get the first QC pics) with only a "I'll work on getting a new picture." I am fairly confident that the elapsed time has been used to procure a watch that does not contain the scratched bezel. The absence of any names or specifics means that this is simply meant to be a warning to first (or tenth) time customers. Maybe you don't just take their word for it when they assure you of something, ask for proof and it's okay to insist, they will eventually oblige in order to keep the customer happy. Remember, even if they aren't exactly trustworthy, they are held to a certain degree of account for their treatment of customers and a bad reputaion or removal from the TD list would be very bad for business.
  17. You should make this your banner to fend off anyone that might walk in off the street that is the World Wide Web hoping to learn about watches or explore something they're interested in, unless those interests include being harrassed by a bunch of bullies, the latter case would feel right at home here. 1680 isn't the only one with rudimentary paint skills
  18. before you set the date set the time, I always do this first. go through the time until the date change happens and then you know you are in am, then move ahead past 2am, just shoot for 6 oclock. If the current time isn't between 8pm and 2am then just set the time, then go back and set the date. I have a couple of watches with this movement, neither has been serviced (can't find someone to do it) and they are both working perfectly. one, a Carrera Day Date has been in steady rotation for 3 years now.
  19. A brand new crocodile strap has brought this back into the top spot for some time to come.
  20. I can't believe he hadn't wound it and had it ticking right there in the store since he had been in to see it a half dozen times, the AD on the other hand, I can see them not knowing that the watch was completely dead or having never tested it
  21. I think his plan is to have it replaced, it's actually only 1 day old and from the time of purchase it has never worked. I'm very surprised that his Gen Tudor is dead on purchase but I have been purchasing reps for 3 years and never recieved a watch that didn't funtion perfectly... ish
