  1. For thanksgiving weekend (in Canada), I'll be wearing my New Big Pilot
  2. Oooh, I like this game. I just got my IWC Big Pilot and it really suits me. The price is pretty steep but this is a watch I would love to own in Gen form. Oh, and I wouldn't mind my pilot license and a nice plane to go with it The other that I would strongly consider - if it weren't for the incredible quality of the replica - is my Panerai 111, This watch has the same Uber Masculine style that really suits me.
  3. I am all over a green strap, that thing is stunning. I'll get in line right behind you!
  4. If it didn't say 1 year below your name I would have continued to assume you were an old salt around these parts. A true value to the forum! Congrats and here's to several more years.
  5. Im in for 1 Green and 1 Black alligator for Big Pilot 5004!
  6. Thanks for the tips guys, the Strap has absolutely got to go!
  7. My very first IWC has arrived and I love it. The size is big but not too big which was my biggest fear when ordering the watch. My other fear, the strap quality - it sucks but I can live with it until I can get my hands on a nicer leather strap. On to the eye candy I couldn't wait until tomorrow's Wristies to post something. Hope you all enjoy the pics
  8. Birthdays are a great excuse to treat yourself. Find a nearby AD and see if you can resist. Happy Birthday!
  9. If you can't find a watchmaker to service your rep, can you find one that would just service the movement and then just disassemble/assemble everything yourself. He doesn't have to know where the movement came from or what watch it was in.
  10. would #3 be fixed by replacing the Chronograph seconds hand spring or is that adjustable during service. It's really only noticeable when running the chromo (so... never) but this watch gets so much wrist time that I feel like I owe it to the watch to get her serviced. There I go anthropomorphizing my watches again
  11. It seems to be keeping time just fine, sounds like it may be time for a service, even if I could just replace it for the price of a service
  12. This problem is only noticeable on the Chronograph seconds hand but I am sure it is happening on the sub seconds too, just too small to see. When I run the chrono on this standard configuration A7750 (Carrera Cal.16) I can see the seconds hand skipping. it appears to stop for a beat and then skip ahead a beat once in a while. Is it time to service this movement? If so, just out of curiousity. would this be caused by a lack of lubricant or possibly too much lubricant? When I find an irregularity I always like to understand exactly what is occurring within the movement to cause the problem. Any watchmakers out there that might be able to enlighten me with some diagnostics.com I would appreciate the lesson. Signed, Confused , also signed Me, Mike
  13. Some great looking stuff already guys. Transocean, PAM029, PO, all among my favourite wrist accomplices. TAG Heuer Carrera Cal.16 for me today.
  14. Silver dial Carrera, this watch is stunning in person, either that or I am just not capable of capturing it in photographs
  15. Quite a collection for a young gun. Happy Birthday!
  16. hmm, stolen, I hadn't considered that. As far as I'm concerned there is no doubt that it is gen, however ceejay makes a good point as to traceability of the item.
  17. I agree with Chaw, this watch is Gen. The 41mm Carrera reps all have the CV2014 case back engraving, if I'm not mistaken, I know my CV2017 rep sure does. If it is a rep then it is a franken with gen movement and dial, case back, rotor, bracelet (end links for sure), etc. I can see the decorated bridges on the movement, the date wheel font is not A7750 and the Chrono subdial bezels also look gen, the rep bezels are a little too thick and actually touch the '12' and '6' markers, there is a clear gap on your watch. The dial printing on your watch is also a nice bright white, the reps have a much greyer looking (silver) dial text. All in all, you got a great deal on a great watch, I wouldn't worry about the papers. I don't know why he would offer your money back and let you keep the watch though because it is definitely Gen.
  18. That is the old rotor for the Cal. 16. As far as I can tell this one is good
  19. Looks good. The reps have a flaw on the yacht bezel but this one looks okay, they Are poor pics though.
  20. It's a little late, but I'll continue the Panerai trend to close out the day.
  21. Vacation in the Ottawa Valley on occasion, I could keep this in mind. Do you know Round Lake (Renfrew County)?
