If you could ask a rep Tag Heuer by Noob...
icoopernicus replied to Biodom's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
At an AD. can't get a rep of this just yet, actually no good 1887 reps are currently available. A similar watch is the Calibre 16 Day-Date and there is a phenomenal rep of that watch. Here's mine, great piece. -

Nicest 2836-2 ever, probably won't get much wrist time also, finally the correct blue Lume on the dial with green on the hands, most gen like 16610 I have seen to date I think I'll wear this today

Got my wife a Rolex GMT, coke bezel, looks great on her, also the Tag F1 black ceramic with diamond bezel is pretty much spot on, very nice looking piece. I'll see if I can update with some wrist/thigh shots at some time.

Caliper--also Calibre ratings on Carrera's
icoopernicus replied to r0bert M's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Calibre is not a Tag Heuer term, this is a term used to identify and differentiate specific watch movements. the same movement with a sub seconds will get a different calibre designation The basic movement is Cal. 5 with hour minute seconds from the centre of the watch vs Cal 6 with sub seconds at 6:00 position or a GMT function (Cal. . Calibre 16 and 17 are chronograph movements that have different subdial layout and functions from eachother and are based off of different movements.Calibre 1887 is Tag's in house chronograph movement exclusive to the Carrera line and named after the year that Eduard Heuer patented the occilating pinion (or something ). Calibre 36 refers to the Zenith based chronograph movement that beats at 36,000bph instead of 28,800bph like a standard mechanical watch. This is why you can buy an Auquaracer or a Carrera with a Calibre 5 movement in it, the name Aquaracer refers to the case and bracelet design where the Calibre refers only to the movement inside the watch and can be fitted to different case designs. Different watch companies and even manufacturers that only make movements will differentiate their movements using the Calibre nomenclature. On to the use of the word Caliper, this term refers to the Grand Carrera Calibre 36 Caliper system. The caliper is the rotating inner bezel that allows for the accurate measurment of 1/10th seconds using the chronograph, remember the movement for this watch beats at 36,000bph which translates to exactly 10 beats per second therefore making this measurement possible. Hope this cleared some of this up for you. I still have trouble with Rolex model numbers, to me a sub looks like a sub, looks like a sub, why there are so many damn model numbers is beyond me, of course lots of guys refer to them by model number and know exactly which varient is being described. -
Black Dial Stainless Steel Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph 43mm
icoopernicus replied to SSTEEL's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Great looking watch, the dial on this looks better than the dial on my DayDate, better colour, I think the AR on the crystal is better on these newer versions as well. I ordered one for a friend and the one that came in looked a little better than mine. I did notice that the Subdial hand for the Chronograph Hours is misaligned, pretty easy fix if you have the tools, pop the hand off and install it at Zero, otherwise it looks really great. -

Love this and am almost certain it will be in one of the next two rep orders that I place. fighting for position with the Omega PO. just gotta have both, why compromise?

I think I need to take a trip to "that side of Chicago" might be love at first sight, just don't tell the wife

How to adjust the micro-adjustment on the BP Sub-C
icoopernicus replied to maxse's topic in The Rolex Area
with the ceramic sub the glidelock operates a little different than the DSSD. instead of lifting up on part of the clasp you pull down where the bracelet meets the clasp, then slide in and out and push it back up to lock it in place. This is a brilliant system for micro adjustment, the best out there in my opinion. -
Puretime, they all carry it. it's a great peice.
-
Back to the DSSD for me, I know this wears large for some but I think it's a great fit for me. I'm not the only one that thinks so either:

Omega Seamaster PVD with Orange bezel?
icoopernicus replied to fraggle42's topic in General Discussion
Ha, no I meant non trusted dealer, google search hit, dealers. A lot like the one you linked to, but not any of them specifically. They're all the same...ish anyway. -
Omega Seamaster PVD with Orange bezel?
icoopernicus replied to fraggle42's topic in General Discussion
That I can't promise, like I said, I purchased from a couple of these sites and always received a watch, still can't promise you anything. Unlike with the trusted dealers here, you have no recourse if your watch doesn't show up. -

Omega Seamaster PVD with Orange bezel?
icoopernicus replied to fraggle42's topic in General Discussion
First off, I'm going to say that it doesn't contain a Swiss 2824 for that price, of that I am almost certain. Also, I think you're right, this is a fantasy piece. Go for it if you want a PVD PO, it's not something you'll find elsewhere. Just be prepared for it to show up with a quartz movement or more than likely a 21j automatic. When I started out I bought from these kinds of sites, always received a watch and once had a second watch sent for free because the first wasn't what I ordered. Bottom line, if you have $150 to [censored] away, then you have $150 to [censored] away. -

The Transocean in black is one of my all time favourite watches, just love it. I wish they made a more accurate version, I'd put one on my wrist tomorrow. also, as a non coffee drinker, I survive on Redbull, we don't have that Silver Edition stuff her though, is it just the calorie free one?
