  1. I'm glad no one wants to crucify me for this, it's all in good fun There was a very close guess (hint: I "like" close guesses), maybe just not specific enough
  2. Pure Time is my TD of choice, not for any special reason but he's been good enough to earn repeat business from me. I agree that you won't have any issues with the asian movement which will save you $90, that's a 30% savings and you're getting almost exactly the same watch. Good luck.
  3. Some very good guesses, someone just about nailed it! The watch is swiss but one might argue it's japanese roots that was another hint guys! All I can say is keep guessing, you're collectively getting very close and it should be here by the end of the week, you're running out of time to pry this out of me!
  4. I'll give you a yes, if I'm ever in the market for a Hublot then I'd like somewhere to go to ask questions and browse posts. If Jay Z doesn't shut up about his new Hublot I might just crack and have to see what all the fuss is about
  5. I have both of these watches, neither from BK but I feel a trip his way might be in order, both could use a little TLC to become the spectacular pieces that you have just added to your collection. Right now the movement is out of my DSSD and the dial was discovered without dial feet. As for my Sub C, the bezel pearl has fallen out, a look I like on subs, but not so much on the ceramic bezel
  6. Great strap ASCI - a real compliment to that PP
  7. Given the near $50K price tag I am affraid that it's not the diamond studded pink monstrosity that rrari linked to Uther, you are very close, scary close (so on the right track that I fear I will be admitting my purchase in the near future), but its not a Jazzmaster, no no.
  8. To be fair, you're right, I couldn't be more vague, I do believe that SGT would certainly appreciate this watch and as much as the divers and classic tool watches appeal to me, this goes back to my first love in the watch world - the Chronograph. Precise and dedicated yet elegant, keep guessing
  9. Oh no, another tudor party, I'm afraid I can't play
  10. The lucky watch is..... Going to be revealed in pictures when she arrives at my door. I tried this watch on for the third time at an AD recently, after a couple of days I decided I just couldn't wait any longer. As far as being anticlimactic, sadly I have to agree as it almost always is this way, and they almost always do grow on me the longer I own the watch. Hint (sort of): This watch is beautifully elegant with a minimalist design. Sporty, while dressy and classic while still being contemporary and modern in design and style. If someone guesses the watch correctly, I will reveal the identity early. Good luck to anyone who feels like making a guess or two.
  11. Well, I just pulled the trigger on a piece that I have had my eye on for almost two years, The rush was like a drug, it's been so long since I have bought a nice gen and I have never purchased one on this level before. Anyone else go through wild emotions when purchasing a watch that they have been lusting after for years? This is almost rhetorical as I know I am not the only one that gets this excited. For the love of this passion that we all share, I think I might just be addicted
  12. I didn't know this was a quartz party! My Citizen Skyhawk calibrates itself to the atomic clock every night and has always been +- 0.0sec over the 4 years that I have owned the watch. A friend of mine also owns one and without fail, whenever we get them together, they tick in perfect and absolute harmony.
  13. Gonna keep this thing on the wrist for a little while, I've missed this one while it's been on the shelf.
  14. Hey mike, I've got one in blue, same movement but not quite as accurate. I can't say it enough, this thing is incredible bang for the buck!
  15. Consistently better than a couple of seconds per day and after a week is never more than a handful of seconds off of the atomic clock. I have some reps that keep great time, I have some swiss ETA Valjoux watches that keep great time, but nothing has been as consistent as my $100 Invicta Pro Diver. This watch uses the Seiko sourced NH35A movement at 21,600bph.
  16. Well, this is how I spent my morning And, after several months of sitting on the back burner, I finally cracked and repaired this bad boy! She's back in the rotation
  17. If you already purchased I really hope it was the 7750 model, that quartz model is awful. Sub dial spacing is off by a mile, it just doesn't look right. Do the right thing friend
  18. Hey Antonio, on the main page go to the watches, clothing, and accessories section (scroll down for a while to get there). The sub forums under this section are each related to different dealers. There websites aren't as easy to find as these guys are saying, the search function also doesn't work as well as they think it does. Good luck buddy.
  19. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/10/taft-high-school-armed-guard_n_2450710.html oops
  20. Still sick in bed, on a positive note this thing is running about 3seconds slow over the course of the entire week. With that said, I'll be wearing this for the day.
  21. Still off sick probably a little of everything today Maybe get the camera out for some good shots of the Panerai.
  22. It doesn't matter how strict the gun laws in Connecticut are, or Chicago, or New York, or DC.... Do these places have gates around them controlling the transport of locally banned weapons from entering, of course they don't. Even the national border between Canada and the United States isn't enough to keep guns from passing from one country to the next. You want to prevent a mass shooting in Kansas? don't create strict gun laws only in Kansas (the laws in CT are not strict, just by comparison to the rest of the nutty country). The entire country has to adopt appropriate gun laws! Someone who wants to commit a mass murder has to have NO access to an assault rifle because his mommy wasn't allowed to keep one in the friggin' house! Why don't people use bombs more often? because it is so easy to get a gun and making a bomb just isn't that easy. Restricting firearms won't make building a bomb easier, it will make committing a mass murder more difficult - PERIOD. A mass murder is pretty hard to commit if you only have access to a hunting rifle - PERIOD. Arming everyone won't prevent mass murders, it will make the entire country a more dangerous place. Is your child safer at a school where firearms are prohibited in a country where a firearm is almost impossible to come by or would you rather drop them off in a war zone with a bunch or armed soldiers tasked with protecting them while equally armed bad guys try to kill them? How can anyone think that more guns = less gun violence? Please, how can anyone honestly believe that?
  23. I would really want to protect them, I don't know what it would be like to live through something like that. Of course, I'm also not sure how I would feel if my son or daughter were killed by a gun that I was keeping in my house for protection. Accidental shootings happen a lot, see the list of links I posted yesterday and for me that is a far more real danger. This is not a problem with no answer, it's a problem that we refuse to address. We make constant justifications for owning guns that will only be used for target practice or to accidentally shoot our neighbours kid. Justification for guns that have the potential to be used in mass murders, guns that are only slightly modified versions of military weapons. This isn't a movie and the bad guys aren't running rampant with guns, but you better believe that when someone decides they want to do something bad with a gun, they have all the access they could dream of, all because someone, clouded in their own cognitive dissonance, justified it.
  24. Violent people are made that way, maybe if we stopped creating a system that favours the rich and puts all of the burden on the poor and old. Maybe if we weren't afraid to "punish success" we could avoid creating a huge population of disparate people with no access to education and easy access to firearms. I don't think we should discuss getting rid of the violent masses that our greed creates. Sort of another topic.
