I hope it does happen...getting rid of twit and twat will be the best thing to happen to F1. Maybe Bernie can whip Max and they can play games together.

Having received many AR coated crystals from Chief since his first run, I can tell you that the crystals are absouletly perfect and have no damage marks or other imperfections. For someone to state that they have received damaged crystals from Chieftang is an outright lie, this is begining to show the true character of Rocketeer. We have all experienced this type of behaviour before with other modders (RBJ, FF etc), blame everyone else for your problems and lie as much as you can. Is a liar worse than a scammer, or the same...

Well what do I know...maybe someone else can offer better advise...

I don't think there are any dealers who offer 7750 servicing, and if there was, I would not recommend it. Consider it the same as the "paint protection" or "rust proofing" package from a car dealer...a bit of a sham... your much better off getting someone else to do the servicing. There is a fellow in germany who does servicing, search for EU servicing or something similar to find a post on him here. All the dealers listed here are trustworthy, so it's a personal choice. Lume is possible, but I am not aware of any one in the EU who offers lume service, certainly don't consider Rocketeer after all the posts this week on the quality of his services.

The only solution is to make one, ETA does not make cannon pins with caps on them. I have made some in the past, as you can imagine, it's a small part...

Since Rocketeer makes his home on another forum, has the other forum made a general announcement bringing to light these concerns to the members there? As I said earlier, this is the exact same scenario that has happened before with other modders, and it will never change because no one wants to speak up. I spoke up many times in the past and got flamed for it by many of the members here, although in each case it turned out that I did know what I was talking about... and even today I know things but am keeping my mouth shut. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that I am being flamed at this very moment on another forum for my earlier comments... Reality is that no one really wants to know the truth - until it's too late. I hope it all works out for everyone, but it seems as if some have already been royaly screwed.

Deja vu all over again... There is nothing that this or any other forum can do to prevent these things from happening. Those of us who have been around a few years can well remember the past experiences with other modders, this has happened, and will continue to happen, examples include: RBJ, despite warnings over a number of years, and show and tells, and his scamming many members it went on and on until he was finally banned... Flav, our own Lanikai knows too well the havoc this individual wrecked on many watches...a bit too hot in the kitchen and he moved on to greener pastures and despite his signature claiming that he does not do any rep work anymore, this past week two reps were being sold that he modded... TWP, same as above, numerous warnings and many got burnt... There are many many more modders who have come and gone. At one time I was a real crusader for trying to inform members of what was really going on with modders, but it became such a burden and caused so many bad feelings that I gave up. I will say this much, the garbage and poor workmanship is still going on, and many are still being fooled and taken for a ride. Only Vaccum has any clue or skills...and yes...I have seen the work of the others, from all the forums. Caveat emptor. I hope this does work out for everyone and that time will fix it, although 5 months is a long time, 32 crystals shouldn't take that long to install.

Find a real watchsmith locally who has the skills and tooling to check beat and rate. Have both adjusted. Most of these surplus movements are handled so much that the adjusting levers get moved and are out of adjustment. I don't recommend you try adjusting the rate lever only, too risky and without knowing that the beat is correct you could end up damaging the movement.

No trick, it sounds like it's the wrong size, either too big, or too small. Hand sizes vary a lot, sometimes by a tenth of a mm... The only way to know for certain is to measure the seconds hand pinion with digital calipers on each movement. You can also do the opposite, try the hand on the other movement and the other way around, that should identify the problem.

If you want to spend little money, have someone cut the length of the stem down so that the crown sits close to the case. If you want a genuine crown and tube installed, it's around $100 or so for the parts and install.

Been there a few times myself, it's no fun and in each case my life improved and so did my salary. Good luck, and keep in mind that when I golf it's usually in the high 60's or low 70's, any colder and I stay home

I think the thickness should be directly related to the Dennison strength...not positive though. More info: The marking is for a OTERO factory movement, this may help in the parts selection.

Measure the mainspring dimensions, length, width and thickness with digital calipers. You need 1/100 mm accuracy. Any good supply house should be able to match those dimensions to the Dennison tables and provide a replacement spring. Mention the speed of the movement as well and this helps with selection, ie 18,000 BPH, 19,800 BPH etc...

More than likely you moved the beat arm, the beat is now out, the pallet is locked to the escape wheel, the only fix is to have a watchsmith time and regulate and adjust the beat on a watch analyzer.

Great post and nice to see how everything falls into place now and then. Well done, can't wait to see the next project. It looks similar to what I have been working on for a while by buying up old pocket watch movements and modifying them to fit the pam cases... Thanks for this.

Not sure how I missed this one. Well done Francisco, lots of hours went into doing this project, and it does seem to require very specialized tooling and skills to get it done. Good job documenting the process, it allows others to see how much time, skill, and effort is required to do what at first seems to be a simple task...make a spacer ring. Thanks so much for doing this up and showing such great detail, you set a high standard.

The datewheels are not the problem, the problem is the quickset gear that allows quicksetting of the day/date via the crown. It's not working, to get at it requires that the dial be removed and it be fixed. If you haven't done anything like this before, best to get someone to do it for you.

The only way to remove the bezel is to use a bezel removal tool, at about $300 for the tool, it's not something to pick up for only one job. The bezel can't be pressed out from the inside, it has to be lifted off from the outside edge. I DON"T recommend trying xacto or razor blades or box cutter knives etc, far far too dangerous... RG
