  1. Very nice review. I have never actually considered this watch, but your pictures and words sold that in. Mabe I need one straight away:)
  2. Thats amazing!!! I would say, to me that's the absolute best colour-mix on a watch ever made. If you were sporting this and driving a 911 from the mid 80's with white leather interior, then james bond would look stupid next to you
  3. I have the same rep and after using it as a toolwatch for a year I must say I feel the bracelet wears well. I think mine feels everything but flimsy and I have had it resized at an official Tag AD without getting any comments. So it cant be that bad;) However, my polished centers do stand out alot, so could this be a different bracelet?
  4. Those black&whites are stunning. I actually reacted emotionally to these!! Awsome!
  5. Amazing gift:) It's a stunner! What does it wear like? I see its 42 mm, but does it wear like a Tag aquaracer or does the watch feel smaller? NORing
  6. To me it's not about gens or reps. Like I've said in other threads, I generally love watches for the mechcanical movements and the general look of them. I would buy more gens, and I probably could afford it if they gave me more than our usual ETA's can give us. Ofcourse there are more complicated watches and movements out there, but they're simply not my cup of tea in most cases. I'm 26 years old and do not want to sport a dressy watch for say; a broker, when I work with oil in the north sea. I like the new Panerai watches, and will probably buy a gen of them. I think when someone says they're overpriced, they've probably never worked in retails. What someone pays for a product does not reflect the general worth. What about art; cars, houses and those (in my opinion) stupid bikes they make on the OC show on Discovery Channel. They probably would't last half way across the states. I had my own Hifi store for 3 years, who decides what sounds good? YOU DO! You decide what you like and want to spend your money on, and you decide what actually is money well spent. To answer your question Ubi. I will probably buy more gens based on my indtroduction to reps. However, if I didn't know the reps were this good I would probably have bougth the gens a long time ago. Love your watch, gen or rep and wear them well!
  7. I think ugly is cool apparently, most of theese cars are so ugly it's cool! Didn't Waynes World play as well in other contries?
  8. I have had about 20 watches and many have been passed on as I've read more and figured out what I was looking for. When I first arrived I had 2 old reps that never got used and should not have been used either, due to the low quality!! What actually got me into watch collecting was probably something completely different than most of you all. I saw a video on 4-5 years back about kinetic art. An artist called Theo Jansen and how a machine could work in a grand scale just by putting it on a beach, letting the winds fuel it. I found this thrilling. How could I see a motor work this complicated and interesting in real life? It soon got to me that watches have the same ability to wow me when it comes down to it. It think engines this smal, working this hard, with so many functions are amazing. Then a friend of me showed his newly acuired rep watches and pointed me in this direction. I then began to see the beauty of the cases and surrondings that this amazing machines were wrapped in, and I was sold. After that I have been pretty much obsessed with watches. I keep the number at 6-7 watches so that I can enjoy them without leaving them of my wrist for too long. I wear them well. I don't care if I scratch them or wear them at work (offshore oilrigs), as I generally take good care. (I think it only builds character.) I don't want my watches to be "ding-free" and look too perfect, I want each of them to look used and loved I will buy some more gens in the near future and build some good frankens, as I've found some pieces I cannot live without. But for now I think the rep world is threating me more than good enough. Wear them well
  9. This is by far the best wallet in the world!!! I've had one now for 3 years and it still looks like new. It's made for creditcards and papermoney. 2 most used cards on the outside that you flip out with your fingers and the rest when you flip open. It's supposed to hold 7 cards, but I keep 12-13 cards in it, lottery tickets and cash. (However it's more functional with only 7 cards and cash.) I just now found it was a norwegian brand. But if anyone is tempted, I could buy some with RWG engravings on the leather and ship out. Probably need a fair amount of people that want it for that though. Check out the website: http://exentri.no/en_Default.aspx For direct buy (without cool RWG logo) goto: http://exentri.no/Products.aspx NORing
  10. Love it!!! Thats the exact combination I want to do. Now throw in a Pro II and the watch will be a killer. Wear it well NORing
  11. Great tour, awsome result!! I need do rebrush some of my bracelets as well. The Dremel kicks [censored] for many of these jobs, probably need to get some new fittings for my dremel. When you're talking oven, what kind of temperatures are we talking as I'm not running on gas.
  12. I do not take any considerations when wearing my reps. There are no strict laws around owning reps for personal use in Norway and hence I feel no stress wearing any of them. I wear my TAG Aquaracer when working on the drillfloor offshore, I wear my PAM's, IWC's and Breitlings at home. All of my reps are "high-end" reps and I have never been called out or confronted by anyone (Except friends, haha.) I have sported my watches in AD's and feel I have no reason not to. There are no big history of watchmakers in Norway and I do not feel I have to prove anything to anyone. I feel the biggest honour in the world would be having a product that others would go through a lot to replicate. When I travel I only wear my highly modded PAM 111 or the IWC Coustau, as I know it will be hasslefree. I love the art of movements and like the brands I own replicas of. I just don't feel they are worth the money they are asking for at this time of my life. When It comes to how they are made and what that is doing to the world. If I were to feel something about how all the crap I consume during my life affects the world, then I would have to move to a small farm in the mountains and isolate my self from everyone else. Growing my own food and living in harmony with nature. I care about the people around me and help as often as I can. If everyone did that instead talking about helping people, the world would probably be pretty fair and ok.
  13. 13 here too. And I have been a V.I.P at the AVN Awards in Las Vegas a few years back. Drinking tequila next to Jenna and the lot. I am ashamed of the new me!!!
  14. I have the exact watch with the same movement. I however can't get rid of the twotone bracelet on mine. But seeing it on a strap I kind of want to try somthing different. I understand the twotone/twometal bracelet was never actually sporting on this watch, so might need to do somthing about it anyways. Nice photos by the way. Classic!
  15. I just bought 2 more as well. I want that watch and it WAS posted on my birthday. Let's get this drawn. I'm off to bed. Good luck to all
  16. A lot of managment here I used to manage a Hifi / Audio-Video specialist store in the capital of Norway. Went all over the world on convetions (ie. Las Vegas, Germany, Spain etc..) paid by the suppliers. Some good times indeed. But quit due to the increasing crime activity. I turened 380 degrees and now work on Oilrigs in the Northsea for an American company (coast of Norway and Scotland.) I took a private education and worked my ass off to climb the ladder. My work involves getting valves in oilwells for oilprodction/gasinjection 4500m below sea to work. It's exciting work and a lot more challenging than my previous trade.
  17. I don't know if I have ever been visiting one singel page this often in my life. Let's get on with it!!! It was posted on my birthday, so I take that as a sign;) I agree with Pug, this is the best way to contribute to the society. By the way; I love RWG and I visit it every day. I'm sorry that I don't contribute enough on the forum, but I'm very busy working offshore on oilrigs way too much. I hope to get more time to actually write more responds in the future, when I hopefully get more time off. Anyway, It's the beer that talks, I love you guys Ingvar
  18. Two tickets for me. Paid and ready. Great initiative on my birthday!! This would make one %
  19. I've bought 4 shirts and two suits from a traveling tailor based in London. He comes by Stavanger (Norway) a couple of times a year and his quality is great. [Mr.Rashmi] Being very tall nothing off the rack fits my body. I've always had the problem with sleeves being to short, trousers climbing up my legs or shirts not staying in my pants. I don't use suits on a daily basis as I work with oilwell-completions on oilrigs in the northsea, but when I do wear a suit I want it to be comfortable. I say tailorsuits to go with my PAM's all the way!!
  20. This looks very nice. I just ordered the skyland I will however go for the HK Tan strap with the red inner leather. I think that looks awsome.
  21. Man, I really wanted to attend this. I am however in the middle of moving in to my first ever "self-owned" appartment and doing paperwork for transferring over to another job in the oil industry. I hope you enjoy this and that a positive experience warps in to another gathering in the near future. One which I hopefully will be able to attend. A lot of people here have houses/flats in the Costa del Sol area in Spain? (My family does) I just feel a lot of people do nowadays. Anyways, the airfair from any central european city to Malaga is dead cheap if ordered early in advance. In that case I'm game for a summer GTG. Any thoughts? This must become a tradition. Have a blast. I envy you all
  22. "Gung Hay Fat Choi, Lai See Dai Gut" Happy chinese new years
