  1. I'm seeking out a gen 3717-04 in the $3500 range. Possibly 3777-04 too but I prefer getting a Franken rep, with gen dial and custom AR crystal, to the gen.
  2. That has unfortunately been happening more lately with PT being a large dealer and it's your prerogative to go elsewhere. I've used quite a few TDs with varying results. It's all part of the black market game. I trust Angus though and can count on him to get me great info and do the right thing when something goes wrong. I personally cannot expect much more.
  3. LOL relax buddy What you said regarding your experience happens in the rep world. It's best not to trust the worker bees after all it's not Nordstom's. Even at Nordstrom's you can't trust the low level staff's eagerness to perform their work in a manner which meets everyone's expectations. And like Nordstrom's I bet Angus would stand up and help you out anyway. Through the fora you get access to the actual TDs like Toro, Angus, Rochest and they are the ones you should ask regarding your purchases. Don't assume that some worker bee in china with broken English can interpret your needs and questions and respond with western expectations of business integrity. That's being a newb or naive or both. It happened to me too as a newb and things still happen to me as a more experienced member. Just part of the learning curve. Too many people expect the dark side to work exactly like the legit world in which they live. PS buy the seller is not a WUS trademark. It's an internet thing. Way before WUS and extends to our hobby too. Just sayin'
  4. Sadly you did not ask Angus. He would not lead you astray. You should have known better. Yes you can blame PT but at the same time yourself too, if you are honest with yourself and not naive. Buy the seller.
  5. Good luck with that! Stick to TDs. Post some pics if you do end up getting the watch.
  6. Score!!! Or translated for you euro football lovers... Goaaaaaal!! Vac does the best AR coating on the crystal in the US. I think the gen AR is cloudy on this model. It's very strange and needs a rep AR Vac if out of Florida but you guys have someone in EU for good AR.
  7. I mean vaclume AR. Gen seems to be a tiny but cloudy. Maybe rep can be better
  8. Wow! Nice! Let's see it when installed. Also deserves a vac Lume
  9. With that much into it... It will have to be a keeper. Beauty build though and labor of love. A gen movement is a must for GMT IMHO.
  10. @DutchGuy2 fitted the XV bracelet to this XVI and I bought it off him on M2M.
  11. Post pics when you have one in hand. Cheers mate! And welcome to RWG, hope you stay a while.
  12. True dat! XVI is the way to go. They just reissued a new version a few months ago. I know Angus sells it on http://pureti.me Nobody will call you out on an XV or XVI My old version says hi
  13. I've never tried rubber straps. I think they would pull on hairy arms/wrists.
  14. Hmmm... I don't get it. "UPO" is referred to when talking about the 45mm PO and v5 is the ultimate 42mm at this time. So the title does not make sense to me: 42mm UPO. What am I missing?
  15. Check out this one! Only $56,000 http://www.pianki.com/underwood-jewelry-and-watch-winder-safe--custom_p2382.html
  16. Interesting. I like the simple design shape and the lugs are neat. I wonder if it's a working watch. Most likely a quartz model though.
  17. Jus' the three of us hang in' out this morning.
  18. The full site version here is much more useful but Tapatalk is far faster and easier to read threads quickly and to post comments with pics across all the 8 fora I browse.
  19. There is much for us to to be thankful everyday but today is a good one to slow down and take 'time' to do it collectively. Peace
