  1. It arrived like that. I think the latter batch don't have blue screws.
  2. I will let the pictures do the talking. I am not too good with details like font size or font shape. I will only cover areas that I think can be detected easily (if you hold the watch side by side). On the wrist, I think the reps nowadays are too good to be seen as rep easily. Gen is on black gator strap. Rep is on Gunny Calf Strap LUME COLOR Lume is darker on the rep. I was worried that the lume on the hand won't match the lume on the dial on the rep. But mine has a uniform lume color.. CASE SIZE & SHAPE The rep case is thicker compared to gen. It is quite a lot. I would say 2mm difference in thickness. The overall is case is also looks bigger on the rep. I don;t have a clipper with me but it does look that way. (as can be seen in the pic) The lug shape is also different. The gen has slimmer and longer look compared to rep. CASEBACK Movement is upside down. CROWN GUARD SHAPE GEN: REP: Not really significant difference that I can report. That's all folks. Overall, it is a nice rep. I am used to 44mm pam so this one somehow feels small. But if I compare it to a Rolex watch, it actually almost the same size as a Rolex Submariner (the pam is slightly larger). Hopefully it helps.
  3. Who knew that coke 16710 insert can fit into a 1675 bezel.
  4. We'll make sure to remind her to get you whatever version of sub available then when she has made it.
  5. There are a few watches that I like very much that I buy several versions of them. Rolex DSSD is one of them. My first one was a BK DSSD. Then I bought from Wathfreund the BK/Pbdad DSSD. I like it a lot so I bought a gen Mark 1 dial one. Then the Noob 2014 DSSD came out. I bought it to do a gen vs rep comparison. I find it close enough to the gen so I sold the gen and kept that. But the insert font color kept bothering me. So I sold the Noob 2014. Then I got the chance to buy a gen Dblue; I am buying it as a gift for my newborn son. I will keep it mint until he is 17. Having none DSSD in the collection to wear do bother me. So I bought another gen Mark 1 M series Black DSSD. But I made a mistake of sanding the bezel with a sandpaper and manage to scratch the ceramic insert. It bugged me a lot, I sold it and bought the Noob Dblue to do another gen vs rep comparison also to curb my urge to wear the gen Dblue. I think I have said too much, so here comes the pics: The gen Dblue: Comparison: Gen is on bracelet, rep is on RubberB Dial The gen has lighter blue color and more gradient compared to rep. Although I must say that the blue color on the rep looks more elegant. The one on the gen is a bit cartoonish. But the gradient in the gen gives more "ocean" feel. From blue to black. While the rep dial feels like you start at the middle of the ocean already. (if you get what i mean) BUT.... There is a HUGE difference about the dial that makes this rep is worse thatn the predecessor Black Noob DSSD. There is always a great debate regarding the latest rolex dials. Some say it is glossy, some say it is matte, while some say it is a satin dial. If you ever see the gen black DSSD, you will know it looks like. It looks glossy due to the crystal but on certain angle/lighting, it will turn satin. It isn't matte dial. It is matte but has a little shine to it. It is hard to describe, you have to see it to understand it. That brings me to Dblue dial. What dials that the gena nd rep Dblue has to offer? SURPRISE. The gen has glossy dial, but the rep has the matte dial effect that most of us vintage rolex lover usually do. Put a matte varnish over a glossy dial. It looks "aged". This makes the dial easily recognizable as a rep dial. PEARL & INSERT Pearl on the rep insert looks bigger. and the rim is nicer and more prominent on the gen. I don't scrutinize to font details on insert since I don't think normal people will take notice on different font shapes. But the color is still the same. Too white on the rep. Hopefully the v2 will make the rep insert looks closer to gen. Although I seriously doubt it. CASING AND CASEBACK More or less like the Noob Black DSSD case. It is excellent. BRACELET AND CLASP The rep bracelet is excellent. I would say it is very close to gen. I forgot to take a picture of the SEL fitment. The shape of the SEL on the Noob DSSD Black dial is diffferent from gen. The gen is more protruding. I suppose this one also has the same difference. Some parting shots: In conclusion: The color on the dial is different but the rep one is actually nicer. My biggest regret is that the rep dial has "aging matte" finish to it. If only it has a glossy dial all the time, I would love to have it in my collection. So I am back to ordering a Noob DSSD Black dial v2. Anyway, it is still a great looking watch. And the gradient color is more fun to look at compared to the original black one. But if you want a watch that is closer to the gen, then the Black dial is the route to take. Thanks for reading. Hopefully it helps.
  6. I believe it has all gen parts. I am just not sure whether all parts are periodically correct. The case has 3.8mil serial. Thanks
  7. Hi I got offered this watch. Can anybody notice anything fishy with the watch? It looks legit to me. But again, I am no expert. Thanks for the help
  8. @kernow in my head I imagine this is what legend will say to you: We've known each other many years, but this is the first time you came to me for counsel, for help. I can't remember the last time that you invited me to your house for a cup of coffee, even though my wife is godmother to your only child. But let's be frank here: you never wanted my friendship. And uh, you were afraid to be in my debt.
  9. Amen to that brother. Strangely this "hobby" and forum becomes a daily routine for me. Thanks for legend and other good members that make this place a second home for me. In closing, "And one day pam153, there will come a day when i will need your help. Be ready until that day come." We are that kind of family. Lol
  10. Side effect of wearing gen, it raises your arm hairs.
  11. The first and only rule of joining RWG is to have balls. Kingfrod stared down to his crotch reminiscing the good time when his two balls can bounce up and down when he run. The feeling of two balls hitting each other always give him the satisfaction of being a man.
  12. Also lesson learned from my experience: Seller Take a lot of pictures of the watch and packaging before shipment. A video that shows working movement is essential as well. Buyer: If you feel the package you receive is suspicious. Torn packaging. Or it feels light, it is better to record it when you are opening the package.
  13. I had the same experience before. So I know exactly how you feel ezio. Mine worth much more than yours. Just a heads up for the buyer that pp dispute won't do you anything good. First, you will be banned from this forum and could be the other rep fora as well. Second, you might not win the dispute anyway since the seller can provide a tracking number or proof of delivery and it will show that the buyer has received it. So, best solution either take it as a bad episode or ask ezio for some kind of monetary donation for this unfortunate event. IMHO, the seller is not entitled to give anything. The price the buyer pay is the price for the watch FOB. so everything after that is actually the buyer's risk. If you want it fully insured, better buy from a TD. Of course at a more expensive price. That's the pro and con buying from M2M.
