I don't have any experience, but just to be the fly in the ointment, I am sure what you are trying to do can be done. http://www.jewelryandwatch.com list it as a service if you check under Explorer II on their page. They say send them your 1570 and they will modify. This is a GMT conversion, but I am sure they could do the date for you. It is worth an email.

I just did a quick cross reference check on the Jules Borel site. It looks like the 2804-2 is available with or without sweep. If you want to go that route, your best bet would be to find out the length of the current cannon pinion you have, then call Jules Borel, and order one of the same length but with the domed top for no sweep seconds.
-
you could always carefully clip the tip of the fourth wheel, once the dial, hands, hour wheel, and cannon pinion are removed. You may be able to order a Cannon Pinion that is solid at the top for no seconds. I was mis-shipped one for a 2892-2 from Jules borel. went to install on the movement, and it wouldn't go on, upon inspection, I noticed the end of the cannon pinion was solid and domed on top. I don't know if they made no sweep second models based on the 2801 movement. If they do, just order the cannon pinion and install. You will have a nice solid domed tip on the cannon pinion. similar to the panerai.

I've never had a problem with them in the last few years that I have dealt with them. As far as emails, I've only received a response once from them. They used to list their overlays on ebay for 9.99. I asked one time when they didn't have any listed if I could buy at $9.99. Received a quick reply, "no". Delivery can take up to a month. I've waited that long for the last couple I ordered. They do show up.

I've got a new gen dial out of a 2006 watch. same size as the older dials. 27.8mm. The difference is the lume. It fills the whole marker, similar to ex-1, or other sport models. glows like a torch! I fit it in a gen 16220 case circa 1993 and it fits fine. They are not cheap though. The dial cost more than a rep. Here is a picture:

Just wondering if anyone has built a Ladies Franken-just? Using gen case, dial, etc with eta movemement? Is it an easy task with stem alignement, clearance for the date disc, etc? I guessing the 2671 calibre is the eta movement to use. thanks!

I get this email yesterday, don't know how they got my email address and it made it through the ol' Spam filter. Anyone hear of this company? http://devoted.to/watches $1900 for a Daytona? $1400 for a Sub? $2400 for a Platinum Yachtmaster? Sounds like a scam site to me. Reading on their info, they claim the watches are government siezures. Hello, My name is Angela Bushra and I am the sales rep for Time Shop It is very simple to purchase from us. They are 100% authentic and you will be able to inspect them. We ship worldwide. I would appreciate if you could specify the exact model you are interested in and I will provide you with all the required information. Best Wishes, Angela Bushra Sales Rep http://devoted.to/watches TIME SHOP T.E.A.M.

This is the style of endlink I need. Notice the notches for the springbar tool. The case I have has no lug holes so I need endlinks with notches to remove springbars. But now I am confused as I see another 557 B that does not have the notches for springbar tool??? Anyway, anyone out there have a spare set of notched gen endlinks for 19mm oyster bracelet?
-
THanks Nico, I have a gen band, but need gen 557B endlinks as the case has no lug holes. The regular 557 will only work on older style cases. I don't know if any members have some 557B endlinks that they swapped for regular 557 to use in PM Daytonas. thanks.

Nice! Looks like you had some fun! Good deal on the parts too. I wish I still have mine... it was a great rep. -
I'm trying to find a set of gen. 557B endlinks. Anyone have a source? Or could I, or has anyone ever, modified a set of 557 endlinks to have the recessed notch for springbars? I have a no holes case so need the 557B endlinks. Thanks!

is it me, or does something not look right with this auction.

The other thing that is wrong is there should be a 19 stamped under the 78350. Oh well, the search continues. -

Well, I emailed the seller, and recieved a very prompt reply. seems like a nice seller who did not know the item was not genuine. thanked me for my questions and said he would close the auction. -
On a search for a gen. rolex bracelet for a 15200, I came across this on the bay: 260130486931 Now is it just me, or does something not look right with this. First thing that bugged me is that a single bidder placed 11 bids and brought the price up to $250. What idiot would do that unless it was a shill? And to me, the center links look solid, especially when looking at the end link, it looks drilled. And on the buckle, it apprears the hinge is attached with a springbar instead of a rivit, not to mention it is not a 78350 buckle and the coronet looks too big to me. anyone else care to comment?

I don't think there is enough of a variance for someone to be able to tell the difference in weight. If the woman is used to handling gens, then maybe she was commenting more on "feel" then weight. I don't know how to describe it, but there is definately a difference in feel. I've never owned or even held a so called 'perfect' sub, but I can tell you every single rep that I have owned or held, does not feel right. I've had four gens, and there is definately a different feel to them.

Yes, eBay sellers do mis-represent the items they list. One seller in particular. I bought a crown a few years ago, and it took three tries before I got the right one. I bought one a few months ago from the same seller. Same problem. I sent a very specific email to ensure I was sent the correct crown as listed. I'm sure we are talking about the same seller. He shows the crown in a picture next to the 24-603-0 package, but you get the older style crown. My last transaction took three tries before I got the correct crown. Now I just buy them new in a sealed package. I figure once you factor in the time and effort to get the crown, as well as paying return shipping two times, just spend the extra cash and buy new in package. I find you have to be persistant with the seller to get the correct crown.

Hi Steve! They look great! Nice job. The case tubes on the 162XX series cases and 152XX series cases are the same. You probably had an older style 160XX 6mm crown. These are thicker and do not fit in the newer style case tubes. I have a 16220, 16200, 15200 case, and I can fit either 5.3 or 6mm crowns in the tubes. Did you change out the tube already? The correct crown for your 16200 is 24-603-0. btw... I really like the dial on your 16200.

Awesome! Thanks for checking that out! much appreciated.

Beautiful watch! Nice job! -
Thanks to the advancement of technology I can check if the date disc lines up with the dial in the digital world. I got a scan from the seller. I also scanned a spare date disc that I have. The only problem is, the seller does not have calipers, so I don't have the exact diameter of the dial. Since it is an older DATE dial, I'm guessing the diameter is 26.5mm, so I could be off anywhere from .25mm to .5mm in alignment. It looks pretty damn close and I think my date disc could work with the dial. Anyone out there have a gen 15XX series dial they could easily scan and send to me with exact diameter so I can be 100% sure? Here is the dial with date disc blended in photoshop. looks pretty close to me. keep in mind I didn't rotate the date disc when I layered it to line up perfectly with the window, I'm just checking for diameter. I also did a digital fit with a picture of another dial I pulled from the web. I only adjusted the width, so, the top and bottom looked a bit skewed.

Haha! I'm not one to judge another. I'm quite normal too!

I've got a couple of luanfat's date overlays that might work. I've emailed the seller to see if he can send me a high res scan of the dial. If he can send me one, I'll resize it to the actual size and scan the different date discs I have, overlay them in photoshop and see if I can come up with a match. If not, back to the drawing board. Thanks for everyone's replies! I appreciate the help.
