I see another Raffle Mike! AJ -
Thanks for this and great advice, this watch was not new and was supposed to have been serviced when I bought it from a fellow member. Regards AJ

Thanks Pete Alex has now serviced this and discovered what had gone before! This was a M2M purchase with a supposedly serviced Swiss movement and the moment it arrived it was not right! I have to say that the £100 it cost to have repaired and serviced was well worth it as it is a great piece and the sweep of the second hand on a Swiss is a pure joy! Regards AJ

Guys Have any of you had any problems with the winding system on your Swiss AP Diver? The reason I ask is that I recently received a watch that wouldn't wind and had to send it to a really great guy called Alex in the UK (Thanks Pete) who had to replace all of the attached winding wheels, I am interested to hear if anyone has had the same challenge as this is an expensive repair! The photo shows how the teeth have stripped which were then loose floating inside the movement. Regards AJ

Well Said Pete Unfortunately the male species of the Human Race tend not to actually 'Read' the instructions before putting that cabinet together or something similar. Common sense should prevail, however is not always called upon. My comment on DD, due diligence the other day when a new member scammed several members, a couple of well known members was a case in point when the new member joined here and started selling several watches, all were bought and none arrived, I'm unsure of the total amount, however believe it was in excess of $1k, $1 is too much! MY ADVICE IS ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE SELLER, READ THEIR FEEDBACK How recent is it, how many posts, how many feedback, i have even contacted a member that dealt with a seller i was unsure of and he warned me of the transaction and i avoided doing a deal that was likely to go wrong. All very easy if as Pete says, contain your greed and make sure you are comfortable with what your doing and with whom. AJ

about 3 months here and already being scammed.

BUY THE MEMBER AND THEN THE WATCH, ITS BEEN SAID SO MANY TIMES. HOW DID YOU PAY HIM IF YOU PAID MORE? IF PP THEN NOTIFY THEM YOU DID NOT GET THE GOODS. ON ANOTHER NOTE, MODS, WE SHOULD LIST A SET OF DO'S AND DONT'S FOR THE SAFE TRANSACTIONS HERE AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST, NOR I FEAR THE LAST TIME THIS WILL HAPPEN. A VERY SAFE BET IS TO DO SOME DD (DUE DILIGENCE) ON MEMBERS AND ASK! REGARDS AJ (FELLOW BRIT) -
It has been polished, however a small piece of scotchbrite carefully used will give you back the satin finish. AJ

I am so delighted to finally get my Swiss PAM29 back from a top watch smith here in the UK following a complete tear down and service, not cheap at $150, however being a Swiss movement and now wearing her OEM Black PAM Alligator strap she looks, feels and works like a real beauty so much so that she will be coming out to dinner tonight with my wife and children! Have a great weeknd guys. AJ

On the bay there are several suppliers of such parts, cases, display back and so on, I have used them to build watches before and they are fine. Search SS watch case and you will be fine. They typically can supply faces, hands, movements and so on. Regards AJ
