  1. Worth book marking for hard to find Rolex, Omega etc parts. http://stores.ebay.ch/passionchrono/_i.html?rt=nc&_pgn=1&_ipg=192
  2. Only observation I can offer is that the bridge with the extra jewel on the 18 jewel movement is a very different colour to the rest of the parts in that movement. I would be weary of that watch.
  3. Poising during routine servicing. If the watchmaker is confident that both the balance and hairspring are true in the round and flat, then poising can be used to alleviate positional errors. But, poising only needs to be performed when there are issues to be addressed. The only time I have had to do any poising (dynamic ) was after a balance staff replacement. I suppose it's up to the watchmaker to decide whether the calibre of movement is performing well enough in positions after servicing, whether any poising needs to take place. I have serviced 2 chronometers and they were both within spec after...Phew!
  4. Depends on where you are in the UK you are really. I'm in London and the Police have way more things to worry about than someone smoking a reefer or carrying a couple of grams. Rule of thumb is, be discreet and don't mix with idiots. Larger cities I guess will be the same, little rural villages and people with nothing better to do & a jobsworth local copper...You'll end up with a fine or warning in no time. After that, you're a marked man Oh, bye the way, it's illegal to be in possession. That's it. I stopped smoking 10 years back, actually got fed up with it.
  5. Ahh...Great seeing new posts in this thread. The 1675 never dies I will get mine out for tomorrow.
  6. I'm making an educated guess here, that is a faux plate covering the regulating arm. The arm you attempted to adjust is the stud retaining arm. It is used primarily for anchoring the hairspring and adjusting the beat error. It 'should' also have an affect on the timing. The regulating arm I guess is hidden beneath the faux plate. Just remember, tiny, tiny movements make a lot of difference to the rate. If you get stuck, you're welcome to send it to me for regulating FOC I was right...
  7. All mine from Josh come via a courier company like DHL etc. I'm guessing this isn't yours, he is out of stock and playing the waiting game. This is a game of patience, sit tight!
  8. Just had a look at some of mine, no they don't all have arrows. In that case I guess they can be pushed out from either side.
  9. I do have my concerns about the quality of the eBay ones and would prefer not to go down that route. I have PMed BK about one of his. I don't mind a little modding if required Cheers.
  10. Guys I have to find a replacement pearl for a Sub C (116610) I have found eBay sellers doing complete bezels and pearls around £30-£35 Any other suggestions?
  11. Aren't the links on the PO held together with screws? The one I have here are. If it pins, then this is as cheap as it gets http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WATCH-BAND-STRAP-LINK-REMOVER-REPAIR-TOOL-5-EXTRA-PINS-FOR-BRACELET-ADJUSTMENT-/331273092997?hash=item4d216a3f85:g:Ao0AAOSwGzlTt37k There should be arrows on the bracelet link indicating what way the pins have to be pushed out.
  12. Loving that machine...One day! I currently run a modded Gaggia Classic & Iberital MC2 grinder. Coffee of choice is a local roaster, Climpsons & Sons - The Baron My favourite style is "Cortado" Espresso shot cut with equal amount of steamed (not frothed) milk.

  14. Just to add to this, I done this on my 1675 build when I installed a 5.3mm crown. Make sure you thoroughly degrease the tube and case threads. I used lighter fluid & pegwood

  16. This is my latest acquisition & a damn fine one if I may say so! It's a Jenny (pronounced yenny or yanny) Caribbean 1500 dating from 1969. Jenny is famous for releasing the (arguably) first watch to be tested to a depth of 1000 metres (3300 feet) That was the Caribbean 1000. This the Caribbean 1500, it's slightly bigger and rarer brother. 2mm bigger than the 1000 at 42mm. Still a very wearable size The "Hi Swing" on the dial indicates it contains the ETA 2724 Hi Beat (28,800) movement. ETA's first hi beat movement. The depth rating was achieved by using a Monobloc case design. It's a one piece case with the movement being loaded through the front. A retainer ring then screws down securing the 5mm acrylic crystal complete with 3 o-ring seals. Screw down crown looks after that entry point Uni-directional going edge click bezel, lovely Blue 'Scothlight' dial with matching bezel insert. I was lucky enough to buy this from its original owner who bought it when he was 18. I got it for an absolute bargain price, which is always a bonus Anyway...A lovely vintage diver, that with this depth rating doesn't look ridiculous on my skinny wrist!
  17. Do you carry a gun/rifle when you're out there?
  18. Maybe a tiny bit more width on the coloured countdown segments? Notice how the green marker lines up with the 1 on the 6 o'clock subdial.
  19. Just been reading this http://www.network54.com/Forum/207593/message/1413226856/the+black+ghost+ROC+Paul+Newman+dial.... I love reading this stuff and how they really get their knickers in a twist! Does anyone know what it sold for? Any comments? Sure is a beautiful dial...fake of course
  20. I love the patina on that crystal
  21. Thanks guys. Unfortunately with the pound to dollar rate looking grim I am going to sit this one out for a while. But you never know Cheers.
  22. But still maintain my sense of humour. Just saying...
  23. Thanks very much for that, appreciated. Shame, it would have been a nice treat to try one on out there and maybe buy it. I will pop down the AD here and see what they say. Cheers
