  10. Bah...nonsens...sorry to say that but that's just the same what every unexperienced watch noob on most of the watch fora says about watches and their waterproof rating. 1. There's no massive increase of pressure once you move your watch under water...at uhrforum.de there was one geek who tested it (theoratically as well as physical)...just nonsens. Pressure is slightly higher but only on the exposed parts what makes the watch even more waterproof. 2. These companies want to make money. The don't want you to use your up to 30m rated watch for swimming for example...better buy another watch which is rated 100m or above. So there are these DIN and lists and stuff that tell us that a 30m rated watch is good for washing your hands, 50m can be worn while taking a shower, 100m while swimming and only all above for diving. Back in my younger days I had lots of swatch. They all where rated 30m and I did everything with them...jumping from 10m, diving to 7m, swimming hours and hours...none of them ever got wet inside. My watchmaker today pressure tests most of my watches to 6atm, some to 10atm which means 60m or 100m in depth rate. None of these watches ever got wet inside! So when a Company sells a watch that is rated 200m waterproof you can do whatever you like (in- and underwater of course ) with that watch. If the watch is getting wet inside the QC was bad but not the crown system. And...you are covered by the guarantee... 12. Many thanks for your thoughts A few month ago I had a 1675 from Domi in hands with a nice slimmed case so I know he can do and it's going to be very nice I just don't know if it can be done with my desired setup (with eta 2893)...with a little luck I can find a timeslot next week to visit Domi
  13. The parts for my next project just arrived Last week I received a new Cartel 1675 from Toro and just today the gen dial (refinished) arrived. The overall look of the new Cartel 1675 is pretty good. But the Lego lume dial hurts my eyes and I don't trust these clone movements. So I was looking for a good dial to put in and got lucky with a refinished dial via the bay. Next already on its way are some inlays that I'm going to age once arrived and a rafflestime sub case back. I guess I'm going to keep the plexi and the hands but they will be relumed to match the dial. For the case I'm going to discuss with Domi what is possible. I'd like to have the case being slightly slimmer and the crown guards have to be reshaped and gen spec drilled lugs of course. I don't do anything to the crown...I don't like the look of a small gen crown sitting "loose" in between its CGs...looks way better (in my eyes) with the rep crown. The movement will be changed with a swiss 2893. I don't care if the sweep is correct...my main concern is the realibility and I had too many problems with the asian GMT module in the past. I'm not sure if I have to change the bezel assembly. It's working fine and looks decent enough to my eyes (which aren't the best lately I have to admit ). What you guys say, especially about the bezel assembly?

  20. Since I'm a very curious guy I searched the net to find a Rolex with a similar logo...and failed... It looks pretty much like the usual UAE logos but I only found them colored. None of the other UAE Rolex have an only white logo. Very interesting... Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
  21. Many thanks too all for your help I already told them that this watch is a little treasure and that it's value is going up. Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
  22. Thank you So with box and papers and maybe a service history it's maybe 5.5 but not more. I thought it would be good for the young man (20) to know about the value. This watch would never be sold but knowing what it's worth is still important I'd say Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
  23. The son of a good friend of mine inherited a DJ from his grandpa a few years ago. The DJ is gen...the grandpa was some sort of special forces trainer several times for a sheik (dunno where) and it was gifted to him from this sheik. Neither my friend nor her son know about the value of this DJ...they think of 1 grand at max... Thing is...I don't know it's value too...but I bet you guys can tell me the direction Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware
